We visited on the tail end of happy hour (4-6pm). House margarita was good for the happy hour special. The patio seating is quite pleasant. The traffic isn't very noisy. Umbrellas are setup to block the sun. The inside of the restaurant felt very hot and seemed like the air wasn't moving. Much more comfortable outside. The food was all... More

best shrimp tacos, you really get the "village" feeling on the dog friendly patio. Tasty margaritas with many tequilas to choose from.

I've now been there twice. $5.00 tacos? A bartender that tells you how to order a shot of tequila with lime and salt? No thanks.

Visited during happy hour 3-7pm. $5 margaritas were excellent. Free chips and salsa. Tacos were tasty. Staff personable. Recommended. Sam and Joe (Scotland)

Had a nice lunch outside under the marquis. Food good, prices a little steep for lunch. Should offer a lunch menu.

The food that we tried was flavorless and dry. while the service was friendly, I wouldn't say efficient. The atmosphere is very loud, and the bar service is especially slow and unfriendly. The only thing I could see people wanting to come here for is for the outdoor patio for margaritas.

Excellent fresh made tortilla's , and every dish you can think of. Much better than standard Tex Mex. Indoor and outdoor dining even the bar has indoor and outdoor. Try their special Margaritas too.

Had the pleasure of finding this local spot and delightlfy surprised at how wonderful the food was. We were on our way to Legoland, the kids wanted tacos, so, we were looking for the nearest TacoBell. Then I thought, you know, with Carlsbad Village nearby there must be a local Mexican spot which would be a notch above the 'bell.... More

except for Lola's and the El Torito market, this could be mistaken for any other nice quiet neighborhood. wide streets, clean yards, no junk cars in yards or on streets, very little graffiti, Barrio? it redefines the term

I like the Carlsbad Barrio because it's in walking distance of the beach but feels like Cabo San Lucas or a cleaner Puerto Vallarta... Try Lola's Market for a chille relleno, scrambled egg, cheese and salsa Fresca breakfast burrito cooked kitchen-style right before your eyes. Or maybe try El Puerto for the fish burrito and quesadilla... be sure to get... More
