I only visit the part of the beach that is below the camper/ camping section. The southernmost part of the beach looked much nicer

CSB is a treasure. If you want to go to the beach in San Diego that is quieter than Mission or PB or even La Jolla Shores, CSB is the place to go. Relaxing, definitely great for families or folks who want less hustle, the beaches are pristine, the surrounding area is tranquil, yet there are shops and restaurants in... More

We enjoyed walking on the beach, seeing the surfers, and taking in the beauty of the area. Nothing extraordinary, but very pleasant.

Carlsbad's beaches are well maintained ! clean & healthy. New sand this year for South Swells has put almost 6 feet of new clean REAL BEACH sand on our beaches. While down town Carlsbad is just a couple of minutes walk away !!

Love this beach. Safe and really clean. Good parking although at $10 to park per day! Lots of lifeguards on patrol.

Expansive beach, great place to take your family or just relax with a good book. Lots of shallow area to play, waves were calm. Bring a towel and an umbrella and you are set for a perfect day.

Carlsbad State Beach is one of our favorite beaches in the greater San Diego/So Cal area. Such a beautiful long stretch of sand! It seems cleaner & public restrooms are better maintained here than many other beaches. There are decent sidewalks for walking/running with many access points to the beach along the way. Parking is street side where ever you... More

Clean, no crowds despite the warm September weather and so many places to access the beach. You can walk for miles along the coast without being turned back by the cliffs.

The Carlsbad beach is a nice place to spend some time in weekends but also in working days. The place looks clean and large.
