My family and I love this place! The wave runners are a really fun way to spend a hot day on the water. My 16 year old loved being able to go on alone and my 13 year old enjoyed being able to drive with me behind... A little intimidating but so much fun. They even allowed us to bring a cooler and drinks on the beach. Overall my family and I enjoyed our day at the Carlsbad lagoon like we always do.…

My wife & I love to go to the Carlsbad Lagoon to tandem kayak to the back channels. Great weather, a couple hours of exercise and you feel like you're in a different world paddling through the narrow channels, fish jumping around you and an occasional crane startling you. Check Groupon for their discounts. Only about $29 for kayaking or SUP.…

Lots of people having fun. Stand Up Paddling is reasonably priced and coupons exist. The equipment was decent especially for the end of the tourist season. It went late in the day with wind blowing in from the ocean. It made for a challenge for first-time paddlers to return upwind to the rental area. California Watersports is located on a large lagoon next to Highway 5 in Carlsbad, Ca. This unassuming location provides many affordable watercraft rentals to customers. Everything from canoes to jet skis are available for rent on an hourly, multi-hourly and full-day basis. The lagoon is divided by into different areas for watercraft traffic. Non-motor kayaks, canoes, water bikes and stand-up paddle boards use the perimeter along the eastern shore to get to the larger open area towards the south end of the lagoon. Jet skis have their own section in the northern part of the lagoon, while ski boats use an area just beyond. There are a few small beaches available to paddle your rental to so you can stretch you legs and even enjoy a picnic. While not an ideal swilling spot, you can splash around if you choose. The main customer area is very modest, with a rental office, recently refurbished restrooms, boat launch, store and small beach side picnic area. There is free parking available. Get there early so you aren't parked too far away. The employees here are young, tanned and very friendly. The girls welcome you to the rental office and process your order. The boys welcome you to the water's edge and happily send you off for your adventure. The customer service and the value keep us going back a few times a year. California Watersports often runs Groupon specials where you can get a 2-hour non-motorized rental for under $30. It's a great deal. With nice scenery, often calm waters, and the largest and most frequent jumping fish you may ever see, you are sure to have a great time. If you are looking for something to do on a warm summer day, head out to California Watersports and enjoy Carlsbad Lagoon. …
