I was really excited to give the Legoland hotel a try for my son's 6th birthday. I know that COVID has caused a lot of changes to occur, but I don't think they were able to really execute the regulations very well. The positives: the hotel is really cool looking and the kids loved it. The hotel room was awesome too - very well designed. We stayed in the pirate themed family suite and it was great. The elevator plays fun music and the treasure hunt is fun for the kids. The bellhop service employees were great as well. The negative - you have to make a pool reservation for a very small window of 90 minutes. It seems excessive to limit it so much. I have been to a few hotels this summer and none were as poorly managed as this. To book the pool reservation you have to download an app and go through a whole process as if you are buying something...address and all. Very annoying. I asked the front desk worker to help and make it for me bc I was having difficulty and she was useless,. I have heard the under staffed excuse but she was talking with another employee...not helping customers. The lifeguards at the pool act like jaws might be in the tiny pool and they actually told a dad and his kid to stop playing. They didn't say "keep your hands to yourself" but it was along those lines! To make a dinner reservation...you guessed it....use the QR code. Again, wasn't working, so we called the lobby and nobody answered for a long time and then finally we were told again to use the QR code. They don't seem to be very willing to help in that area. It was ridiculous really. Overall, it was fun for a night, but I probably would never pay the money when it's not heavily discounted due to park closures. Just be sure you have your phone charged and your app ready to go!

We visited during the offseason just before the COVID-19 quarantine began. Nearly one-half of the rides, exhibits, etc. were closed. Of course, the park still charged us the full price, which was more than Disneyland, despite having only 50% of the park available for us. 1/10 would not recommend

Hello 600earlw, Thank you for this opportunity to hear about your visit. While we do perform annual maintenance on attractions during the off-season to ensure rider safety, we do keep many rides, shows and attractions open for our Guest's enjoyment. We also post any closures online, so when our Guests are planning their visit, they can see all the areas they can enjoy during their visit. We do apologize if there was a particular area that you missed during your trip, and any disappointment you experienced. If you were able to stop and share your experience with us before you left, we hope that they were able to make things right for you. Thank you for your post. LEGOLAND California is for families and we hope that your family were able to create some positive memories during your visit. Sincerely, Jolene

I will preface this by saying that by theme park standards, this place is small. We went to the San Diego Zoo the day after and it was bigger than Legoland. Also, these are strictly family rides. No supersonic or upside down roller coasters here. I did not know that before we arrived but I did not mind at all. I do not need speedy roller coasters. I just wanted my kids to have a great time and I wanted those fantastic churros that all Calif theme parks have. And the ones I had here with the dark chocolate dipping sauce were amazing. I wish they had a log ride but they don’t. I enjoyed the guided boat ride though during which the tour guide/captain told corny jokes.

Where most Disneyland rides are something you sit and experience, we've found that Legoland is something you DO and experience. Every section we went to had multiple rides where the kids used their skill and had involvement. We also had less expectations and were able to explore and enjoy without cramming everything in. The lower price point helps that too. Pleasantly surprised and planning on coming again next year!
