Really fun Park for Parents & Kids, But

Very good location and convenient to Grocery Store. Firewood very expensive if you don't bring your own. Really a fun park, BUT watch out for the POISON IVY/POISON OAK. We were at... read more

After unsuccessfully locking in a spot to camp here due to the campground being full and after reading about great walks and shells on the beach here, we thought for sure this would be worth a day trip. The parking lot has trash everywhere and a fences off gaping hole in the ground about 20' x 20'. Once we set... More

Very good location and convenient to Grocery Store. Firewood very expensive if you don't bring your own. Really a fun park, BUT watch out for the POISON IVY/POISON OAK. We were at the park, starting June 26, 2016 for 5 nights, sight #35. Had to leave one day early because one our family members got poison ivy. In addition, you... More

Within a year this place has suffered a lot. The walk to the beach is crumbling away from the hillside along with the hand rails which makes me think no one cares. Are improvements in the planning or is the land being sold? Bathrooms and showers were barely cleaned. My son became ill. Trash was everywhere. No grounds keeping was... More

We came here every year on Memorial Day and it is always a great time. The view from the campsite looking down over the ocean is awesome! The camp sites are well equipped with nearby running water/toilets/showers/bear boxes/fire pits. Safeway and the town are just a couple exits up the freeway. The beach is a short hike down a paved... Made last minute booking to camp here and was really saddened by what I saw with the management of this campground. Beyond manning a booth and keeping strict rules about when you can check into the sites even if unoccupied, I saw no true stewardship of this place. Yes they come by at 10pm to make sure you paid but,... More

We visited this beach during our Capitola visit in March. It was a friday afternoon and it was not crowded. No bathing people. The sand didnot look so clean because of the left timber and cut tree pieces. However the ocean view is great as always. You can have 'resting your mind moments' gazing at the ocean. Stop by if... We were lucky enough to get site 44 for 4 days. It's across the street from the camp hosts and down a little from the dump station. More traffic than what we are used to BUT, we are here enjoying the great outdoors and the coast! We love coming to this campground (about 25 years)! We highly recommend and will... More

Great beach with campground right there. Not too big or crowded. Nice walk to Capitola during low tide with rocks, sea anemones, shells

Okay, you have been to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, walked through the quaint little town of Capitola, and now you're ready to take a walk on the beach with a friend, family, or even my yourself. Look no further. New Brighton State Beach has been one of the main stays in Santa Cruz County for decades. The beach is nice,... More
