This is a very small "mall." There's not much here, although there is a good taffy place. Not a "destination," but really close to the beach.

We returned in December to do some shopping at the Mercantile in downtown Capitola. We went to the taffy store and also the clothes store. Its a cute shopping area, but not a lot of stores to shop at. For the ones we did, we enjoyed so I would rate it average to very good. I've erred on the higher... More

We had quite a nice lunch at the Village Grill & Creamery where I enjoyed my “All Day Burrito” this is 1/3 lb. of ground sirloin or turkey, cheese, hash browns, lettuce, tomato , and onion for $7.50. It was fresh and really stuffed, but packed in a way that it held together and let me eat it. It definitely... More

On my visit to Capitola I stopped by the Mercantile. There is a taffy shop there that seemed to be doing the best the day I was there. In general, though, I found the Mercantile average. Since I was there midweek my biggest happiness came from finding a parking spot very close by on a very nice sunny day. This... More

This has been a little local shopping center in a tourist town for about 35 years. Boutique type stores come and go regularly as I've heard the landlord is very difficult. There are no super unique shops but they are all worth a quick visit. But nothing really stands out. I've found the surrounding shops and restaurants in the Village... More

I use to spend many of my childhood summers walking around the Capitola Mercantile. We just went back to visit this summer June 2010. It is a quite but quaint little town. I love the cool weather and walking around the shops. I live in Miami...and it is not South Beach, Key West, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, etc... But it... More
