My group’s one-day program at Kea Artisanal was truly magical. Cooking with Costas & Aglaia's assistants at their gorgeous estate now ranks among my favorite travel experiences! If I could, I would give the program 6 stars out of 5.
First, the space is utterly enchanting. We completed the cooking class on a sun-dappled stone patio that sits beneath the canopy of a mulberry tree. I felt like I was on the set of “Under the Tuscan Sun” (Grecian edition, of course).
The class was carefully planned & prepared for us. Unfortunately, Aglaia, Costas’s wife & renowned cookbook author & consultant, was at a conference & unable to join. While I was sad to miss Aglaia, we so enjoyed learning her recipes from her partner Costas. We cut up vegetables, rolled phyllo dough, and made a sort of Grecian pizza called Lazy Pie. Costas also showed us how to assemble a Grecian version of a branzino.
While the fish cooked, we sipped wine & toured the estate. It was very special to see, touch, & taste the gardens where many of the ingredients for our meal were harvested.
Finally, we got to eat. I smile now just thinking about what a delightful meal we enjoyed. On top of the delectable food, Costas ate with us & shared stories. The conversation & quality of food made this one of the most memorable eating experiences of my life. Costas & Aglaia’s assistants went above and beyond to make us feel well-fed & welcome. Book a program with Kea Artisanal for an incredible & unforgettable food adventure!

Kea cooking class at Kea Artisanal was enjoyable. Costas and Aglaia are warm and friendly all the time!! Four of us signed up for a five days cooking class in June. Costas guide us to his home and at the area near.Just arrival delicius snacks and wine was the best welcome!! Aglaia walked us preparing some traditional Greek dishes to include preparation of breads, sweets and more... Learn us so many of the tricks of the trade. When finish preparing the foods the group sat down to a most enjoyable experience. We spent perhaps the next four hours conversing, eating, drinking special Greek wines offered!!! It was a unforgettable experience !!! I suggest this for you who love cooking !!!

My husband and were based in Athens and took the ferry from Lavrion to Kea to take the cooking class with Aglaia. Her husband, Costas, picked us up from the port at Kea. From the moment we arrived at their beautiful house with an outdoor kitchen and table we were enthralled. I learned how to "roll the dough" to make phyllo. We made a variety of Greek dishes including the stuffed tomatoes, eggplant and green pepper with rice, pine nuts, raisins, fresh herbs and the pulp. We made branzino wrapped in fig leaves on the grill. We had a bread with baked with fresh figs and brown sugar with ice cream for dessert. There were 6 people in the class including a Turkish chef/restaurateur. Costas took us around the gardens to see and sample fresh herbs. He served us various wines. We truly enjoyed the hospitality of Aglaia, Costas and the ladies on staff who were also excellent cooks. We hated to leave at the end of the day. We loved eating the meal together in a most idyllic setting. This day felt like life as it should be.

Phenomenal experience for anyone traveling to Kea.
A friend booked this event during a recent trip to the Greek island of Kea (or Tzia). We were met at our hotel and taken to the farmhouse of Aglaia Kremezi, who has authored several cookbooks on Greek/mediterranean cooking. The grounds were beautiful, and we were provided with a tour of the garden with various aromatic hearts, almond trees, olive trees, lemon trees, and more.
The day included interactive cooking lessons with fresh ingredients and a great explanation of mediterranean cooking techniques. We ended the day laughing and talking over a long lunch, enjoying the foods we had just cooked along with other treats and dishes made with hyper-local ingredients.
This was truly a perfect experience and highly recommended.

My husband and I just returned from the most amazing, epic, perfect lunch at Aglaia's and I couldn't wait to post a review ASAP!!! I'll be clear....DO NOT come to Kea without having this experience of taking a class and dining with her. ACTUALLY, I would make sure you book a holiday to Kea, IF ONLY to come and do this!!! Words cannot describe the delight that it is to meet her, learn from her, and enjoy the most incredible food you will ever have in your life (in my opinion, and I'm a world traveler....currently on a 10 month trip around the world, and food is my passion). You will never have an experience like this, and I think it's worth every logistical thing you need to do to make sure you come here. It's what perfect trips are made of!!! Tell her I say hi when you come, and give Neva (her dog) lots of cuddles from me, Anna.

I went to the island of Kea with my three adult sons, daughter in law and baby grandson. We wanted to enjoy the hospitality of a local house+ learn some nice local recipes. Our stay was fabulous. Aglaia Costas and their staff were so warm and friendly. They went out of their way to teach, pamper and make us feel at home. They supplied us with lots of information about the island as well as were really open to talk about their life. We cooked together, had a walk around their beautiful farm all sharing the effort and then had a great lunch, tasting local wines as well. Surprisingly, we were quite disappointed by the food on the island and the meal there was great. The exoperience added great fun to our stay on the island, which was superb

Seven of us were renting a villa in Kea for 2 weeks and we came across this review on trip advisor.
We immediately contacted the owners and we were able to join a one day course a few days later.
Aglaia was fantastic and we had fun helping her with some easy Greek dishes and trying our hands at rolling out Filo pastry to make a traditional cheese pie. Not quite as easy as she and her helpers made it look.
Her husband Costos was wonderful and went out of his way to give us loads of information on the island and showed us around their beautiful garden, pointing out all the various herbs which are used in Greek cooking .
When they found out that our husbands were back at the villa fending for themselves they had us contact them to join us for the lunch that we had help prepare.
We had a long leisurely sumptuous lunch al fresco . Truly a lunch to remember and one that I for one will try and recreate at home.

My spouse and I were on our honeymoon and in addition to relaxing on the beaches, we wanted to enjoy something else about Kea. I found out about Kea Artisinals through TripAdvisor only a few days before we arrived but I emailed and Costas and Aglaia were so accommodating and helpful in setting things up. They make you feel like you're walking into your own home in Kea and they are two of the kindest and open people you could meet, a pleasure to be around. We made some delicious and healthy dishes that we're going to be making for a long time. This is a really memorable opportunity you should definitely take advantage of if it's within your budget!

What a wonderful experience! Collaborative cookery with the inspirational Aglaia Kremezi and her efficient team of helpers. The food was delicious and the teaching very well explained. We were taught a mixture of old Greek favourites like mousaka, but with some sophisticated twists to deepen the flavour, and some less familiar dishes, mostly savoury but also sweet. The local produce, including aubergines (eggplant), huge ripe tomatoes, and green peppers was fabulous. We were introduced to some unusual spices and flavourings. After the cookery sessions we enjoyed eating the dishes we'd prepared, with appropriate wine pairings. The rest of the group were very interested in the program and also great company. We also enjoyed some excellent restaurant meals and other trips out. Costas is a great organiser who made everything go well. Highly recommended.

Aglaia and Costas open a whole new world with their approach to Greek cooking, from the garden tour with Costas to rolling phyllo with Aglaia. The end product, an almost indescribable meal, displays the best in flavorful, rustic cooking. Aglaia shares her time tested secrets in drawing the best from her ingredients. An experience to be remembered for a lifetime...
