This is one of the historic places and as is an authentic site as per the available information. The old synagogue and surroundings gives to know who people lived in the olden years. It is a nice experience to visit an old town.

Restoration is still in progress. City dates after Jesus but still very typical. This was home of Peter's mother and the respite for the disciples.

It’s an interesting stop if you’re in the area. Lots of history behind the site so do your homework beforehand.

This was a surreal experience seeing where the synagogue was where Jesus performed miracles. Any Christian would stand in awe.

As guides state, the current synagogue ruins sets upon foundation of the black basalt rock foundation of the original synagogue used by Jesus. Thus the rest of the site uses the same basalt rock and worth a walk through. The house of Peter is literally...More

Down town of Capernaum reminds me of the different miracles Jesus has done as written in the Bible: drive away evil spirits from a person who possessed, heal Simon's mother-in-law, evoking the daughter of Jairus, and much more. In Capernaum Jesus called Levi, tax collectors,...More

The ruins were impressive -- not unlike Masada in terms of completeness. I liked the approach to the Sea of Galilee even better . . . as well as wading in the water. Felt like this place was most representative of what the Sea would...More

If you can find a guide book that tells about each ruin and building and the gardens, putting them in context that would be great. We had a guided tour and were there about 2 hours. I would have stayed longer enjoying the... More
