This is a nice waterfall but not the best we have seen here. The walk to the falls while short, can be difficult for Seniors or anyone with mobility issues. There is a step type hanging bridge to cross. The viewing area is small. You can go down a staircase to swim but from what we could see and were told, it is extremely cold. We did this site as part of a $54 pp package that included the falls, buffet lunch (very good) and hot springs. This did not include transportation but had a rental car. Admission to the park was a little less than $5.

This was a side escursion we took at the end of our trip, and wish we could have spent more time here. It was recommended by several locals we met in Tamarindo. It was an easy, short hike, sidewinding down to a serene area with a cystal clear pool under the waterfall. There was a ladder to use to get into the water--it felt amazing! Only wish we had more time to spend swimming there under the waterfall. Don't forget to dress to swim! It's an easy hike, but not sure if I would reccomend this for families with small children. The ladder is steep and the rocks can be a little slippery. It would be a great escursion for couples or families with teens.

Nice waterfall that can only be reached via a hanging bridge. The platform constructed for the visitors detracts from the natural beauty of the location. It's a busy spot with lots of people coming for a quick pic or swim. But not z place to really sit down, relax and enjoy nature. Also not the most spectacular waterfall we've seen during our trip but worth a visit if you happen to be in the neighborhood. We wouldn't advise planning a special trip to see just this place.

Oropendula waterfall is absolutely beautiful and the views from the hanging stairs/bridge are amazing!

This waterfall is a must see. You can swim in the beautiful pool of water and it is an incredible experience. It feels cold at first but it is great once you get used to it. It is too beautiful to not do it!

Our family (3 teen boys) absolutely loved this majestic waterfall that we could swim in and jump into a crystal clear natural pool. So fun!

Loved this waterfall and clear pool below. There's a ladder to access the pool and the rocks are smooth, so it is easy to enter the pool. You can swim to the edge of the gals and climb behind the curtain, but be careful back there, as it can be a little slippery. You can also jump from the rocky edge (the pool is plenty deep). It is also a nice little hike to the falls. We actually saw a 6-7 foot long green viper snake cross the trail and climb into the trees along the side of the trail.

Can you get to the Oropendola waterfall when the National Park is closed? We’d like to visit on a Monday, but it looks like the visitor center is closed on that day?
