Interesting cemetery under the oaks. Graves from 1889 to present. You can drive the dirt road around the loop .

Sweet place to spend an afternoon...

Yes, I know it’s a cemetery but it’s also like a locals only park.
This is not some corporate manicured memorial park.
This is where the locals gently place their friends who have passed and then go to visit them on the regular.

Not fancy. Many home made and heartfelt tributes. A place where folx might go to crack a beer with their departed friends.
Not many around line this these days. Truly a place of rest.

The graves are decorated and truly personalized, giving this cemetery a 'lively vibe". Must drive up, though. It's on a narrow road up a steep hill.

Beautiful rural cemetery

Take a one mile drive up the hill and step back in time in this cemetery begun the the 1800's. The American Legion presented "Wreaths Across America" and many were placed obi graves of veterans this year (2019).

Continuing Captivating

This is the fourth visit to the cemetery in twenty years and it never looses relevance. It is most unusual by most standards but, non-the-less most appropriate. We took friends with us and they were equally impressed. It is very difficult to explain, but impressive. As a clergy I have visited cemeteries all over the country and this, by far, is the one I find most appealing for many reasons. It is peaceful, meaningful and reaches out for your emotions.

Pleasant and peaceful

I remember that, when I was a child, my Daddy would stop at every cemetery and walk and walk and walk, reading headstones. Drove my mother, who was anxious to get to the shore, to distraction. I guess I picked up my father's love for cemeteries. I have always loved a cemetery. They are quiet and peaceful.

This is certainly not the fanciest, most manicured cemetery I've ever seen. But, like all cemeteries, it is quiet and peaceful. It was interesting to see how long people from this area live. I could have spent hours walking the cemetery but, unfortunately, my husband has mobility issues so we only walked for about 15 minutes. They were a lovely 15 minutes, though.

Very respectful place. A short (5 minute) drive from downtown. If you are a respectful, thoughtful person, check it out. It is not a tourist trap; it is not a party spot.

I hope to return by myself during a future visit to Cambria, so that I can see the entire cemetery. Until then, rest in peace and thank you for sharing your final resting spots.

Quaint. Lovely cemetery. The Catholic Church it sits on is supposedly first church in the area. We visited with a local and she had a knowledge of the families in the cemetery which made it interesting.

I am not a huge fan of cemeteries, and seldom visit unless notables are buried in one. This cemetery is an exception. One winds up a narrow street through pleasant forest, and arrives at a wooded level area. What makes it most interesting though are the grave markers and decorations. There are conventional stone markers, but also graves with added stained glass, wind chimes, shells, driftwood and all sorts of artistic additions. Plus of course, if you read local history, many pioneers of the area can be found there. I spend a half hour or so several times a year on visits (vacation home there).
