We went for a tour of the house, but were lucky enough to come on a weekend when there was a food truck event and a celebration of Adolfo Camarillo's birthday. What a bonus! The house tour was interesting and the house was beautiful. Docents are dressed in period costumes. The grounds are lovely and the inside of the big, red barn on the property is of architectural interest. There's a beautiful water fountain in the front garden. Restrooms are available in the barn for visitors. Worth a visit at least once.

A shame that this house does not get more publicity. Great site, exterior, interior, furnishings. Lots of windows, space, light walls. Tours only 5 bucks, can’t pass this up.

I've attended both weddings and art exhibits there. It is very nice and historic to Camarillo. If you have an event, I think it would be a good choice. Not sure if there is anything to do on a regular day other than look at the outside of the building.

This location provides you with a sense of history from the Camarillo family that gave each of us such a wonderful place to live. If you can go back in time and take the tour of their home. Please leave a generous donation, so it will help maintain the property. Very worth while !

Seeing a show about this place hosted by the late and legendary Huell Howser, we visited on a Monday early afternoon. Impressive architecture and a peak into early California offered at this historic house. Docents were dressed in period costumes and toured us through the facility offering insights on the home, the man behind the home (Adolfo Camarillo), the local community, and highlights of related California history. The tour lasted nearly 45 minutes and then we stayed a bit longer for some photography. You can take photos inside as well. There is a requested $5 donation per person. I believe the tours are only offered Saturday through Monday, 12pm-3pm, so be sure to check on days and hours before a visit. Parking is sometimes tight and limited on the street here – though there is a parking lot for the house tours. Also, before or after this visit, brews and pizza at Institution Ale across the street make for an enjoyable afternoon.
