I saw other reviews saying service was bad, they were right. Got up and left after the first selection in the tasting flight. Not because the wine was bad, but because the service was TERRIBLE. We got our first pour within about 5 minutes of sitting down, and water. Then our server disappeared for about 25-30 minutes. Someone in an apron came out of an employee only door, and we were trying to get his attention so that he could maybe locate our server, but he wasn't paying any attention to us either. Apparently he knew people at another table, so we continued to be ignored. It wasn't until a line formed at the check in desk that the employee in the apron went and got the other servers from wherever they were hiding, and they finally came over to our table. It was now 4:36, we had been there since 4:06, and had been served one of 6 tastings, and drank all the water. We explained that we had 5pm dinner reservations and had to keep things moving faster. But then the server disappeared again for several minutes. We arrived at 4:06, left at 4:46, and tasted one of 6 wines on their menu. Don't recommend.

Nestled in downtown Calistoga, away from the bustling crowd stands a small oasis in the midst of huge wineries. Tucked behind a historic home and set in a lovely garden sits a tasting room (enough room for about 15 people max) with a tranquil patio setting (enormous canopy of trees). The wines are tasty (as most wines in the area are) but it the ambience of the place that makes this place special. The minute you arrive you are greeted warmly by Emma who cannot do enough to make you feel like you are a long lost friend. From suggesting wines based on your palate to sharing the history of the vineyard, Emma made us feel special.

It was such a pleasant experience that after our tasting, we bought a bottle and sat outside (there was both shaded and sunny seating) in the lovely garden to share it. It was so nice, we returned the next day for their pizza and wine pairing (lunchtime, 11:00 - 1:30). The pizza is made outside by a chef who stretches the dough, loads it with sauce and mozzarella and wine soaked caramelized onions and then bakes it in a wood fired oven. Paired with a glass of wine, it was the ideal lunch on a lazy day.

We totally enjoyed our experience at Romeo's. We highly recommend it and would not hesitate to return.

Whilst the indoor direct tasting area may not be magnificent, the outdoor area is magical. Unusually these guys also offer food on some preordained occasions. I recommend popping in as the tasting hours dwindle and the place is likely to be quiet thus allowing greater engagement with the host. We did the white and the Bordeaux tastings between us. The sweeter whites and the heavier reds were good - we left with a bottle of the award winning Merlot amongst others.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. Flowers and trees provide welcome shade on sunny days, and heaters are available if it's a little chilly. Every seating area is surrounded by beautiful plants, crawling vines, or under a large redwood.

We tried both red wine flights, and it seemed like with each new wine we found a new favorite! Very tasty, and difficult to narrow down which ones we wanted to take home.

The customer service was out of this world! A gentleman (I regret not getting names!) helped us with our flights, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The lady working at the time prepared beautiful plates of crispy prosciutto and various dried fruits, nuts, and cheese. She also introduced us to Juliet! (The cat, she was adorable.)

We spent the afternoon at Romeo tasting red wines. Found out how the wine is aged and the difference it makes in the flavor. A very informative young man spent time with us.....didn't rush us through. It was a very relaxing time.

The Napa Valley is filled with hundreds of tasting rooms staffed by friendly, knowledgeable people serving beautifully crafted, lush, aromatic wines. Romeo Vineyards is not one of these. Instead, you are greeted by a surly employee who grudgingly pours tastes of sour wine after charging you $25 per person. The good news is that the pours at Romeo are much smaller than most other tasting rooms so the agony is over quickly. We should have a realized we were in for an unpleasant experience when a sign in their garden sternly warned us not to take photographs.

This is a really cool business with a wine tasting room right on the main drag. We had no trouble finding parking. Most, if not all of theirs are estate wines. The couple serving were warm, friendly, and accommodating. There was space inside as well as tables on a large extended patio. We tried numerous wines and bought a few of our favorites. Romeo was open longer than most of the wine tasting rooms in Calistoga. They are pretty proud of their wine with an average prices of around $26.

We tasted their wine at our Napa hotel, liked it, & accepted a coupon to visit the winery & enjoy a complimentary full tasting experience. Ryan is an easygoing, congenial host. The outlet in Calistoga is as charming as the town itself. A variety of wine, and in a world-class wine region, these were not underpriced, but worthy all the same . We chose an old-vine red, both for ourselves & for gifts.

You always know your in trouble when they want to collect for the tasting before any wine has been poured. This was a $20 tasting of four or five wines and the size of the pour was so small that you could not judge the quality. We would not recommend to anyone!

Sorry for your disappointment. This employee is no longer with us exactly for the reasons that you touched upon. Lacked graciousness and any gerousity of spirit. I assure you this is and never has been our winery's policy. My apologies. Sincerely , Eugenia Romeo Owner, Romeo Vineyards & Cellars

Spent a couple of hours in the beautiful courtyard right downtown. Came across Romeo by accident and very happy we did. Great staff, friendly and attentive. Wine tasting was exceptional, really enjoyed the white and red offerings. A very relaxing experience and we bought a few bottles for our trip back home.
