This Palladian Villa, the residence of Carlo Marchiori, is a glimpse into the private world of a Venetian artist. A large Salone and six other rooms are completely decorated in trompe l'oeil frescoes. The gardens and grounds offer surprises of pools, statues, fountains, Roman ruins and 18th century follies. You must take a break from the wine tasting and visit this amazing Venetian home of artist Carlo Marchiori. The tour takes about an ninety minutes and is worth every dollar of the fee. The artist opens his home and shares with you his passion of Italy and Art. I took my 10 year old aspiring artist "Daughter" with me... More

This place is a total folly; Calistoga meets Hollywood, meets a Roman Villa Felini'. How he has done the house out of a make shift metal warehouse, is a real and very rare talent. See it to believe it, you will take away at least one garden design idea for your patio, bar or barn. The home of a dali-esque... More

The shop is filled with original works of art and craft work from the unique mind of the talented founder/owner. You could easily drop several hundred dollars or find a unique and amusing chotchke -- or just enjoy the display. For more examples of his work, the artist has painted a mythical main street town on building walls in the... More

Imagine the revered frescos on the church walls in Italy and the portraits of commedia dell'arte figures from the 16th century as part of the Calistoga landscape! This is what Carlo Marchiori has painted at his Villa Ca'Toga and which you can see on Saturdays, April - October. Don't miss out!

Available on Saturdays only at 11:00 during part of the year. Carlo Marchiori is a gracious host sharing his interpretation of a medieval Venetian villa. Gardens are extensive; full of created ruins, sculpture, a pond, warm pools, and a shady path along the beginnings of the Napa River. Themed bedrooms, halls and living room with extensive wall painting, his very... More

This villa, on a five acre estate on the outskirts of Calistoga, is the combination home, studio, and showroom of Carlo Marchiori, a talented muralist, sculptor, and ceramicist. (He also has an art gallery in the downtown area of Calistoga, the Ca'Toga Art Gallery, but this review is of the villa tour.) Originally from Italy, he uses themes and motifs... More
