Beautiful Hidden Gem

We are so happy we booked a tasting at Tedeschi. It ended up being the most relaxing and enjoyable winery we went to. Emilio (and Stella the pup) guided us through a tasting selection of delicious wines and was so personable. His family owns the winery, so it was very interesting hearing from his personal experiences - something you don't get from a larger commercialized winery. The views are amazing and the atmosphere is so chill. Put this special winery on your place to visit! We would definitely return & plan on having some wines shipped out to Chicago!

Favorite place we went in Napa Valley. The opposite of corporate bullsh*t vibes is just what we needed after ending the previous day at the castle. Amazing wine and great individuals. Stephanie led us through the tasting and was a delight. Only place we visited that we became wine club members

Special & Charming Experience
Aug 2021
Wonderful gem in Calistoga. We had our early afternoon tasting in the shade of the walnut trees overlooking the hills and vineyard. Delicious wine. We also had excellent service from a member of the family who owns the winery. Highly recommended.

Small, charming, must visit while in Calistoga
Jul 2021
This was a small and charming family-run winery. It was cozier and less commercialized than some of the neighboring wineries we visited. But the atmosphere was wonderful and wines were outstanding. The seating area for wine tasting overlooks the vineyard and the hills. The wine tasting experience was very enjoyable. We learned a lot from our hostess about the specific wines we tasted and we purchased a couple of bottles. I would definitely recommend vising this hidden gem.

A True Gem

Small, relaxed, family run winery with quite possibly the best view of the Calistoga countryside. Well worth the cost of the tasting just to enjoy the view. Tastings are outdoors so go on a clear day and enjoy the view. Emilio was outstanding and did a great job of giving the family history and educating us on the wines. We also met their winemaker David. And the wine is really good too! Call ahead to make a tasting reservation.

If you want to feel special & enjoy great wines - try Tedeschi Family Winery
Aug 2020
Over the holidays, we organized two different family Zoom events with Tedeschi Family Winery, using their very inventive sampler packs. One was an immediate family Christmas 2 location/2 state Zoom; the other a more raucous, 8 location, 2 state event! Both were terrific. Stephanie joined us for the larger birthday event and was able to wrangle the crowd with her infectious personality and deep knowledge about the wines, the grapes, winemaking, and the winery. Ashley, somehow, managed to pack up the samplers, send them and have them arrive early during the holiday rush.

We have been members of Tedeschi Family Winery for years. We joined because their wines are terrific and we love nothing more than small family wineries. We stay members because of the care with which they treat their customers. The Zoom events were but one example. They also went out of their way to host a special wine tasting for my daughter and son-in-law on their honeymoon in August 2019. And there member events are very special. In August, respecting social distancing & masking we were able to participate in a lovely dinner with our "bubble" of immediate family.

Beautiful winery. Felt safe during Covid
Aug 2020
Highly recommend visiting this winery. Its off the beaten track & north of town of Calistoga. It a blessing since we didn't see crazy crowds, staff was so accommodating & friendly. With covid, they have seating right at the edge of the vineyards with gorgeous views. The tasting menu was better (quantity, quality, price) than at most famous wineries in Napa Valley. The staff followed all covid rules with precision & we felt safe.

I used the restroom which was also cleaned after every visit & kept very clean and tidy.

Highly recommend for a cozy afternoon in the valley

Really worth a visit!!!!

We were recommended this by a friend and were not disappointed. Within walking distance of the town, this family run winery its just lovely!!

Really informative and wonderful staff gave a great talk on the history of the winery and how they make the wine. Great tasting sessions and we bought a couple of bottles so the fee was wavered, its a shame we live in the UK as would be ordering more from this great winery!!

Do not leave Napa without visiting Tedeschi!!!

We had such a lovely visit here. One of the owners, Emilio, gave us a wonderful tour and really taught us about the wine making process. He was so friendly and personable. The wines were all delicious from Rose to Valdiguié to Temperanillo - this was the only winery we visited where we liked all of the wines we tried. Highly recommend visiting!

We knew things were going to be different at Tedeschi as soon as the tall, dark and handsome man behind the tasting room bar introduced himself as Emilio Tedeschi. Yes, Tedeschi, of the same name as the winery we were visiting. As we sipped on a delightful sauvignon blanc, we learned about the family history, their ties to Hawaii, caught a glimpse of the other Tedeschi brother, Mario, hard at work on a forklift, and learned what their sister is pursuing in her studies. This warm welcoming of a group of strangers onto their small family property, into their business, was incredibly disarming and charming.

In the dappled shade of the walnut trees out back, we continued our tasting and tour. The sun shone golden and warm, the autumn breeze stirred the air with a hint of refreshing chill, and the simple beauty of wood furniture set next to the rows of vines captivated us. I may have been caught up in the ambiance and the moment, but it felt like the small, meticulously kept property was blanketed in peace, tranquility and love.

Standing between a row of mature vines and a row of young vines, we learned of the care and basic concepts applied by the winegrowers to coax these young vines along their journey toward one day producing wine quality grapes. Having learned about the family business passing from father to sons, our position on the soil between old and new vines was also a wonderful symbol of the changes occurring at the winery.

I enjoyed every wine I tasted. The ones that stood out most to me were the Viognier and the Petite Sirah, the latter of which I understand was a bit of a special treat. I am very much looking forward to enjoying the bottles I purchased. The wine club pricing looked very reasonable as well, and I kind of regret not signing up.

Tedeschi is a small volume operation producing spectacular wines with respect for history and the old ways while looking forward into the future. A visit to this tranquil, beautiful property might just heal your soul a little, if you let it. Go visit, buy some wine, and support this hidden gem.
