First the young woman that gave us the tour was great . Knowledgeable with very good communication skills and a love for what she does .
Second we were taken by ATV to a secluded location overlooking the unbelievably beautiful property. We couldn’t get over the views we enjoyed as we were educated on a variety of wines .
Third we loved the wines . We are not wine experts but we bought some of each we tasted . Tasted great and easy to drink .

Boutique winery, great wine. Low on amenities versus others - if that's what you're looking for - but high on wine quality. If you're in Calistoga, worth a stop

Tara and Nick made us feel like we were apart of the family. Beautiful property, fantastic education for the lay person, and most important, delicious wine. Not on the typical commercial tours so definitely worth going on your own.

I was able to get an appointment to taste at this small winery in Jericho Canyon, Calistoga. Phil Gift was our host and did a great job at showing us around the property. The area is beautiful and if you've been to some of the wineries in Calistoga, this is more secluded and well worth the trip. We walked up the terraced vineyard a bit so we could experience the full beauty of the valley. The vineyards climb up the slopes on both sides and make for some beautiful vistas. We finished by going back in the wine caves where there is a great wine tasting set up...nothing like tasting in the cool caves after being out in the sunshine on a warm day. Phil has a solid background in wine and can walk you through the processes being used in making the wine and the nuances of the final product. Great stop for wine lovers!

Knowing that their permit only allows 10 guests per day, I almost don't want to give this one away! Each of their wines are amazing. I went to Jerricho Canyon for their cab after reading reviews but their sauvignon blanc is also phenomenal- dry and crisp with a citrus flavor.

Phil was a terrific host. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Plus being that we are all around the same age (younger crowd) it was fun just to sit back with him and shoot the [--]. What? Yes, he did say that word! Not pretentious at all.

This was the perfect way to end my stay in Napa. Can't wait to go back!

While planing our vacation, we decided to visit the winery in late March 2012 based solely on the TripAdvisor ratings. We were not disappointed! As soon as I made my reservation, I received a personal email from Phil Gift, thanking me for making my reservation and listed helpful directions to the winery. He also mentioned that their permit only allows 10 visitors a day--this was great news for us, as we're not a fan of crowds. When we arrived, he greeted us warmly and gave us the tour. The property is unbelievable! We then made our way to their beautiful wine cave for sit down tasting. The wine is fantastic! I am in complete agreement with Charles W.,the Cabs are absolutely top notch and the Sauvignon Blanc is amazing. I also enjoyed the way they do business. For every 3 bottles of wine purchased, one tasting fee is waived. Jericho Canyon is a new favorite and we will definitely be sure to visit again on our next trip!

After years of visiting Napa Valley I thought I was a veteran who had seen it all. We had stayed in Calistoga a few times a some of the high end resorts, but honestly never spent much of our time tasting in the area. We thought the rest of the valley had more to offer than this sleepy little town, as far as wineries go. After visiting Jericho Canyon I now know I couldn't be further from the truth.
Jericho Canyon is certainly off the beaten path, but the drive alone to the winery is magnificent. If you're looking for a place with a storied past, wonderful service, views to die for and some of the best cabs in the valley; then you need make an appointment to visit Jericho Canyon.
As you turn off of Highway 29 onto the Old Toll Road you are welcomed by picturesque views of the mountain side and sheer cliff faces. It is about a mile back on a straight, but narrow road. You know you gone too far if you hit the "Hair Pin Turn" as Phil, our host, advised us beforehand.
Once on the property you nearly run into a cozy green cottage covered with grapevines and Wisteria, it certainly looks like the matriarch of the property. Drive past the cottage and park. There is another cottage and an old barn, but behind that is the stunning winery backed up against a hillside full of vines.
Phil, the resident host at Jericho Canyon, greeted us at the copper bar with glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. We tasted the 2009 at $28 a bottle, and were much impressed by the tropical flavors and good balance it offered, perfect for the weather that day!
After the greeting Phil took us on a walking tour up the steep hillside behind the winery. (Initially I thought, "What is this kid trying to do to us, is he even old enough to be drinking?") I quickly put those thoughts behind me once we got to the top of the hill, WOW! We were literally at the base of Mt. Saint Helena with breathtaking views of the property and surrounding valley floor vineyards.
Once we got settled into our glasses of Sauvignon Blanc atop the hill, we were given a wonderful history of the property. With stories of prohibition vineyards, cattle ranches and celebrities who have lived on the property; the historical vibe was confirmed. After a few photos we headed down the hill back to the winery.
Once in the winery we were lead through the immaculate caves to a beautifully set oak table. Our first Cabernet was the 2006 Jericho Canyon Creek, $45 a bottle- visions of Christmas morning flooded my head, figs, brown sugar, spice, oak and great tannins! (I guess tannins are not part of Christmas morning but that's okay.) Next we tried the 2007 Jericho Canyon Creek Cabernet, it was a unique experience to try both vintages side by side.
Throughout the tasting we learned that Phil had traveled around the world and back in the wine industry, and he had worked closely with the winemaker since the Fall of 2010 and a little in 2009. I realized I was quick to judge, and his youthful appearance shouldn't be confused with lack of experience or knowledge of the wine industry.
Lastly we tried the 2006 Jericho Canyon Estate Cabernet, $80 a bottle. The wine comes from grapes further up the terraced hillside and offers a rich velvety tannic structure- boysenberry, back cherry, currants and a hint of minerality intersect with a good balance of alcohol and acidity. One thing the Estate Cabernet showed is that Jericho Canyon wines are age worthy.
We left with a mixed case and are looking forward to trying them as they age and develop. We also look forward to coming back to purchase future vintages, bringing our friends and being hosted by our young, yet knowledgeable host! Great experience all around, I highly recommend trying to get an appointment.

Incredibly well balanced Cabernets that will knock your socks off without the $150 prices.
These are People who care about sharing their love of wine with friends. Deep dark rich berry flavored wines with a longggggg smooth finish.

This was our 3rd day in wine country and definitely our favorite! We were doing a self-guided bike tour through Calistoga and one of the bikers at Calistoga bike shop advised us to stop here-it is by appointment only. Yes, I am/was intimidated by that, but my husband called and Bradley was extremely welcoming. We could not have picked a more perfect, off-the-beaten path winery to visit. We were warmly welcomed and invited into the beautiful gates, Bradley immediately took us up into the vineyards to a view that surpassed those seen in Europe. The beauty of this vineyard is that it is terraced farming and the owners have a lovely home that rests atop the vineyards. He thoroughly explained all of the different types of grapes they have and how the sunlight and terracing affects each of their harvesting. Afterwards, we were taken into the caves for an incredible tasting experience. I loved every single wine I tasted. That hasn't happened at any other vineyards. The Cabs are big and exquisite, but it was the Chimera that got me...along with the small production Rose. This tour-was by far the best experience we've had. Bradley was an incredible guide and the admiration and loyalty that he has for the Bleecher family shines.

What a wonderful place to visit and taste! You must make a reservation to tour and visit but it honestly is well worth it. The place is beautiful, relaxed and everyone is friendly. Best bonus....not crazy busy with a bunch of tourists and tour buses. The wine is delicious, the vineyards are plentiful, the cave is nice and did I say, the wine is delicious. Thank you Jericho Canyon for making our visit a great experience. We joined the wine club and look forward to enjoying the wine and visiting.
