We loved wines tasting with Mary Sue at Vermeil Wines. The story of Dick Vermeil's life was a wonderful addition to the medal wines.

Not only were the wines interesting . . But we learned so much about Calistoga and the history of this beautiful little city, as well as sports! Mary Sue was informative and a pleasure to chat with. This should be everyone's 1st stop!

We walked in because my husband is a big football fan. I honestly thought it would be too pricey to taste and not that good so I didn't think we would stay to taste. Carmen was so welcoming and fun that we decided to come back after lunch. The lounge was so comfortable and it was interesting to look at... More

Carmen, the wine tasting host, was welcoming and knowledgeable. There were many wines to sample and all were ready to drink now. I found several in the $42/bottle range that were more pleasing to my palate than wines at twice the price at other vineyards. If you like buying wine to age in your cellar, this may not be your... Visited Calistoga for my recent honeymoon and walked around town and visited this tasting room. $15 for a flight of 4-5 wines FYI. The moment we walked in the sales person was pushy and a little full of herself. The story of the wine is interesting to a point, she kept name dropping every few minutes. The whole tasting room... I am from Philadelphia where Dick Vermeil had a great NFL career. the wine was very good, but expensive. I love the posters and video of Dick Vermeil's career. We chose to buy a glass of wine rather then pay for a tasting. I did break out into the Eagles fight song.

We spent around half an hour at the Vermeil Wines tasting room on Lincoln Avenue. The manager, Mary Frediani, was friendly and had the right personality for the job, but the tasting room itself just lacked the warmth or charm or character of the other wineries in the area. In fact, it was just too businesslike; even to the taxing... More

If Dick Vermeil's family made half as good wine as he did coaching this would be a 5 star place but unfortunately it is not the case. For fourth generation wine grows you should know when your wines have oxidized and not poor them . The wines are not great but at least not all of them tasted like vinegar.

We're from Kansas City and really miss Dirk Vermeil so we had to stop at his place while in Calastoga. Great little shop with lots of his memorabilia. Generally the wines were great but the employee conducting the tasting was odd. I'm not a prudish person by any stretch of the imagination but she was a bit too flirtatious. And... More
