Hospitality employees are very good. The grounds are beautiful and a lot of history. We were there on the anniversary day of the Showdown In Paris where Chateau Montelena and Stags Leap, both from the Napa Valley, made history in 1976. This was our second...More

We did a tasting here and loved the experience. Since this was the first place we started - it set the mood for the rest of the day!

My wife and I visited knowing the "Bottle Shock" story. The old building is lovely and the grounds (pond, trails, etc.) are gorgeous. We sampled several wines - their chardonnay (the style that won the grand prize in 1976) was truly delicious and we bought...More

There’s just something about swans swimming in the pond and a castle that sets the stage for a great experience. We climbed the stairs with walls of reinforced railroad ties and it just felt weighty. Better yet, the wine was really good, we even bought...More

Long before the Judgement of Paris in 1976, the winery was the 7th largest in 1896. Roaming through the tasting room, while enjoying a glass of wine, allows you to learn of the heritage and history that is Chateau Montelena. Also stroll around the Japanese...More

Were here during Barrel Tasting weekend in March and could not get in without a long wait. However, if you ask to use the bathroom, they will let you in to the tasting rooms (which are usualy PACKED) and then you can easily stroll out...More

I would recommend making a reservation and it's as easy as sitting in their parking lot and calling! That's all it takes!
