We did not visit the winery due to the high cost of $40-50.00 per person. You can buy a whole bottle of their very nice wine in the local store for under $15.00.

The chairlifts are a kids magnet, you will have to pay to go up and down, included in your tasting. The kids get a chairlift shaped goodie bag. You can keep the vineyard's wine glass you get at the first station. The views are amazing from the top, you can see several wineries and the Napa valley on a clear... More

The good: The ride up to the top is fun, and scenic. Having the individual tastings spread out throughout the walking tour is a novel idea. The bad: Not really all that much to see inside of the building itself, the variety of wines and number of tastings is very limited. Not a real 'warm' feel to any of it.... More

It was a rainy day, and views from the gondola going up to the tasting rooms were dramatic, over the lush green oaks and evergreens. The 'tour' itself was disappointing. The staff we encountered seemed disinterested, and the wines were also unimpressive. My favorite things inside were the stunning Ansel Adams photos of the winery, circa 1950-1960.

With small children (18m and 4yo), I am very glad this was our first winery visit. We were traveling wine country for my Wife’s birthday. Despite much research, I was unsure what to expect. This place was perfect to start our 3 day trip. Though kids (over 3) cost money to visit this winery, my son got a goodie bag,... More

We had a great time at Sterling Vineyards. We happened to visit on a rainy Wednesday so it was not at all busy. I am not sure that you would get the same great service if it was a busy day, but I would like to think so. We enjoyed the tram ride up the mountain and things just got... More

I wish that the tasting fee was just for the gondola ride, which was great. The view climbing up the mountain in the little car was breathtaking and on the way down there were deer in the field. The wine tasting was average. There were four or five wines to taste and of course, all of them were purchase-on-site-only. It... More

The $39.00 tasting fee seemed a little steep, but my wife, daughter, brother, nephew and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This is a great place for casual wine tasters. We came on a rainy Monday afternoon and there were no lines. The Tram ride up to the top of the hill where the self guided tour and tasting occurs was beautiful and... More
