Tram ride up to the monastery/tasting room

The tram takes you straight up to the monastery where the tasting room is. Probably the best view in the Napa Valley. Fun experience and good wine

This place is awesome. What a beautiful winery with a awesome view. We had the best server in the tasting room. Maurice has a great personality and makes tasting their wine so much more fun.

This winery was crowded but so worth it. The gondola ride up the mountain was lovely, the views are stunning. The self guided wine tour was fabulous with fantastic views around every corner. The wines were okay on the self-guided tour, but we also did the VIP tasting at the top and those wines were simply fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed... More

The only reading I didn't give more stars is that we weren't there long enough to enjoy everything there. The tram ride was cool. The tour was self guided and they pour along the way. Great thing is you get a commemorative wine glass to take with you.

We went first thing on a weekday morning and had a blast. The gondola ride is short, but it's long enough - I didn't feel the need to stare out the window for hours, just see some views and arrive. It was not crowded when we were there and we really enjoyed the self paced tour. It was a nice... More

The short gondola trip gave a nice view of the area, as did the patios at the top. After the self guided tour with wine tastings, we sat of on a side patio and enjoyed a very pleasant wine food pairing with their charcuterie and cheese platter. The server spent some time explaining the optimum pairings and the effect of... More

I visited the winery on a lovely fall day. I rode the gondola up to the winery, taking in the views of the lush landscape around me. There is a self-guided tour with two wine tastings along the way. At the end of the self-guided tour, I tasted four more wines. Food could be purchased to accompany the wines. but... More

What a great experience. We enjoyed the Gondola ride up to the Sterling Tasting room. The views were spectacular and the wine is one of our favorites. It was a great part pf our 25th Anniversary trip.

My son and I very much enjoyed our visit to Sterling. Although there was a long line for the tram, people spread out after getting to the expansive, well-designed building atop a hill, which affords a beautiful view of the valley, so we never felt crowded. The tour of the winery is self-guided with wine poured at stations along the... More

Well organized self-guided tour with tastings along the way. Very nice staff throughout. Views from the terrace are incredible. Good place to purchase a charcuterie lunch.
