The trek up to the top of Mt. St. Helena and back to the parking lot is a medium/challenging hike. At the one mile marker there's a monument to Robert Lewis Stevenson, mounted in stone found near the cavern entrance 100 feet to the West....More

Enjoyed the hike to the top of Mt Helena. The first half hour is uneven but changes to a gravel road afterwards, and for the remainder of the hike up. That was a surprise. Enjoyed seeing little waterfalls, the trees. Further up most of the...More

Great views of Napa once you get up about 500 ft. Not too steep, some very rocky portions, some fire roads, some historical markers . Hike-able for families with kids.

If you have read Silverado Squatters by Robert Louis Stevenson, then its worth the visit to where he squatted on his honeymoon whilst he was in Calistoga in the Napa Valley area. A commerative plaque marks the spot of the cabin he lived in with...More

We didn't make it that far but it was still a scenic hike. We hiked about 1 hour each way. Our dog is 10, and it was a warm day. Lots of wildflowers wildflowers in Spring.
