We stumbled across the museum while strolling down Lincoln Avenue. It was a nice respite from the rain. Their staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about Calistoga history. I especially liked their Native American baskets exhibit.

So much info in such a small space! Experienced and helpful volunteers. Some interactive displays. Wasn't expecting this place at all, and so glad we stumbled across it.

If you're interested in how Calistoga got started, this is the place to visit. Very charming and small enough to not get museum burn-out. The diorama of the old town and the stories about Sam Brannan make it all worthwhile.

Stopped in while browsing at the Farmers' Market and stayed for about an hour. Very good. Developed by a guy who worked for Disney in the 50s. Take a look.

The museum I'm talking about is in the town of Calistoga, CA. It'seems a great little-known museum with a lot of pioneer history! You'll find it really interesting! !
