They say be careful what you wish for. "It'll never be as good as the first time" or "why don't you try somewhere different?". A very small part of me couldn't help but be concerned over the possibility that the wonderful memories of Machrihanish Golf Club from my first visit two years ago might be under threat by returning. That... More

Wonderful course! Interesting course with superb scenery. Peter in clubhouse was very helpful. Didn't expect it to take four and a half hours as advised but it did. A good long walk too. Worth the experience.

Three plus points before I start. The weather was fantastic sunny, calm and very little wind. Out with friends and finally I played okay. Great first tee across the water. Upan incline to the second, great hole and so it does until the turn. The 10 you play through two banks, a wonderful par 5. Two magic par 3s 15... More

Fantastic course with stunning ocean views. A course you must play. Can be challenging in a strong wind. The first tee is unforgettable as you drive over the beach. I will be back.

A week with friends with the sun and wind playing one of the best links courses in Scotland. The course was playing hard and fast and the greens rolling well. Not a bad hole on the course and well worth the trip to reach this classic course. As ever, a warm welcome from the Pro and in the Clubhouse.

Took a day ticket and played two rounds (3hr 30 mins) 5 miles walked per round. This is a more established course than the Dunes and did not have as much hidden hollows and troughs so was a bit fairer. The Clubhouse is across the road from the starter / shop. We were staying overnight but it was well worth... More

I love pure links style golf courses. Beautiful and punishing. The course was in fantastic shape. I would highly recommend as a place to play.

Machrihanish Golf Course is without doubt one of the finest golf courses in the UK if not the World. A traditional links which is a fantastic test of golf and always in great condition. The first hole has a sign stating "The best opening hole in the World" and this is undoubtedly true as it requires an opening drive over... More
