I always thought that going to a studio tour in Hollywood was simply an opportunity to catch up with your favorite show; otherwise the tour would be subpar, and better stick with Universal. Well, Universal is still the big drag for the Burbank area, but the Warner Studio studio tour actually exceeded my expectations, even without any shows being taped that day - it was weekend between Christmas and New Year. It was, in short, a very informative and entertaining tour, even for my teens (13 and 16 at that time), who basically came for Universal, but actually enjoyed WB a lot. Highlights include the backlot tour, where you can actually get out of the tram and get a closer look at the scenery and the fake building facades; the museums (the batmobile replicas were fun), costumes (a Harry Potter and Aquaman exhibit), and props. There is a line to take picture of Monica's apartment (from Friends) and a cafe called Central Perks. And, we had an opportunity to hold replicas of the Oscar (and also take pictures). It's a two-hour tour, may last slightly more or less, depending on the day and your guide. There is parking on the premises. Arrive before your scheduled time for the tour - in spite of being pre-scheduled, you still have to line up to check-in, first come, first served. We like doing studio tours a lot; I think that is what you should do while in Burbank, because this what people who live here do.

Really fun family activity taking a peek behind the camera at the Warner Brothers Studio. Our guide was super fun and told us some great Hollywood trivia. You'll see how movies are made and what's really behind that door on screen. They showed us the set of "All-American" as well as giving us some great photo opps on the set of "Friends." Bring the kids, especially teens.

Really loved this tour. We got to see sets and costumes and learn how films are made. The best part was going into the props warehouse and having a picture at the desk from West Wing. Also LOVED sitting at 'Central Perk' at the end of the tour and having lunch, seeing the friends fountain, learning about how the same streets are used in many different movies. My husband was sick when we were booked to go so my sister and I did the tour without him. We loved it so much that we did it again the next day so he could come along as well. The beauty of this tour is that you will always see or learn something new, the second day was different to the first. I would go again in a heartbeat.
