DorWood Distillery is a family owned and operated Small Batch Hand Crafted Spirits distillery specializing in Agave, Whiskey, Vodka, Gin, Limoncello and other unique spirits. Located in the heart of the Santa Barbara Wine Country in Buellton Ca. Open every day except Wed. from 11 AM - 5 PM. Ok, I'm not a big hard liquor drinker, but I enjoy seeing how things are made and figured my wife and I and another couple might enjoy a distillery tasting. We checked out Dorwood and were greeted by the owner. He was very personable and poured us six of his current products, including Vodka, Whiskey, Gin, Agave and a couple types of Limoncello. All were tasty, but my friend and I (our wives don't drink the hard stuff) agreed that the Vodka, which is actually made from wine, was the best. We even bought a bottle! Afterwards, the owner took us on a tour and explained the whole process of distilling. It was a really fun way to spend about an hour and a half!

These guys are innovative, fun to be around, and they have some pretty nice spirits to boot! The owner of Bella Cavalli has a stake in this place also. His brother, Jay, is quite the host and co-owner at Dorwood. He is very knowledgeable about the process of spirit making and the tasting room is right there in the distillery, so you can see and if you’re lucky “smell” the process in action! Try all the spirits, because they are all great. Oh yeah, one other great thing (according to my better half)...no nasty hangover after drinking the DorWood spirits. Try the whiskey...very smooth!

We had previously visited two wineries and was recommended we stop by this place for a new adventure. Jay, the owner, introduced us to wine based vodka. I really enjoyed it as well as the Limoncello. Jay was also nice enough to let us taste his brandy which was still being developed.

In a word "smooth", Brothers Spirits is a small distillery making some very good spirits. The grape based vodka is fantastic, the Agave (teguila) is very good but I must say the Limoncello is my favorite. The owners provides outstanding customer service, they educate you on the distilling process and have created a cool little venue to hang out in to taste the spirits or enjoy one of their amazing cocktails.
I have visited the location several times and have brought several friends and family members to sample the spirits. they have all agreed, it can be summed up in one word, "smooth!"

We stopped by this small distillery on Industrial Way in Buellton, near Solvang while waiting for Alma Rosa Winery to open. The tasting room is beautiful, decorated with charming art masks and upscale but comfortable furniture. We had 4 tastes: a wine-based vodka, tegave (tequila-type), non-aged whiskey (shine) and limoncello. All were absolutely delicious! Our tasting guide (Sean?) was very informative and personable. He also gave us great tips on beer-tasting in Solvang. We really enjoyed our tasting experience and had to come away with a bottle of the whiskey. Next time, it will have to be the vodka!

My husband, friend and I stopped by Brothers Spirits on a Sunday afternoon. A little tucked away (but with great signage), we found a charming distillery. The tasting room is fantastic! A wonderful place to lounge after a meal at Industrial Eats. The master distiller was there and sat with us to explain all his products. Each was excellent - the vodka and tegave were my favorites! Also, the bottles were reasonably priced for a craft spirit. We'll definitely be back.

When I walked into this industrial complex I had no expectations...however the cozy atmosphere of this tasting room was awesome! Comfy leather chairs, rustic wood features and a live still for viewing! The owner was the best host and we were able to sample his whiskey, vodka, tequila & the best limoncello I have ever had! The spirits here are high quality I will definitely be back.
