After Transfagarasan! Road starts from Pojorita up to Chiril, but only up to cabana Rarau fm Pojorita its two lane traffic, as from Rarau to Chiril is one line (this is also the best part). Road is tristing and turning in mountain hights, making one of the best atractions of Bucovina. Recommend to stop from time to time and make amazing scenery photoes and beath in the fresh air mountain. Access is only available on DJ175A, beeing recently constructed and freshly asphalted. Do not attampt to use DJ 175B from Cimpulung Moldovenesc as is only for hiking towards Rarau.

Wonderful road in the mountains leading to Rarau mountains. I especially enjoyed driving on it in autumn, because the view is fantastic.

I drove this road from Pojorata to Chiril. It starts with beautiful wide sweeping bends up to a lookout on the top. There is little traffic so if you like to drive, you can push quite safely. From there you can take the 175A to the monastery or continue to Chiril. The road narrows to a single lane. It's like they paved a 4WD track through the forest. It doesn't even really go anywhere. When I finished I wanted to drive it again.

One of the most beautiful roads in Romania, the landscape from their it's breathtaking. You get in touch with nature and there is a lovely pension where you can take lunch.

Transrarau was a very pleasent surprise for me and my husband as we were heading to Gura Humorului from Vatra Dornei. The road crosses the Rarau mountain and is easily accessible.
Forest paths as very close from the road and the views are amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

When finally arriving at the top it's worth to have a quick course (Pietrele Soimului is very easy and short) and enjoy the amazing landscape.

It is one of the greatest roads in terms of beautiful landscape. Not very long and not very difficult to drive, you should visit it. On the top you can reach a restaurant with great views and take hikes into the woods. You should pay attentions though specially at the night time as there are wild animals in the area...just the other day I was driving there around 10 PM and a deer jumped in front of my car...be careful!

The scenery is absolutely spectacular. You have so many resting places from where you can Take pictures and just Take in the beauty of it all. We went during the week in july and we were alone in the road which allowed us to really enjoy it and not get caught in the traffic from the weekend. It is a short road but it goes thourgh the forest and in the open field so you can enjoy a bit of everything. Before entering the Transrarau from Pojorata we stopped for lunch at Hanul Pastravarului.

We recomande this road! It's better than Transalpina and Transfagarasan due to tge views and the road quality. The forrest is amasing, memorable landscapes. We went until Cabana Raray and from there we climbed towards Piatra Doamnei. They offer you some expeditions into the mountain and if you are well equiped you shouldn't hesitate!

Transrarau is one of the most beautiful roads in Romania, so you must see it if you visit this area. If you want to enjoy the beauty of the nature, you must go on a week day (not weekends or hollydays, because it is very crowdy, you can't find a spot to park your car and the traffic is a killer). A half of the road is very narrow so I recomend that you enter Transrarau from Bistrita Valley (not from Pojorata), so you can go up on the narrow road and have the rock on your right, not a gap on your left (there is no protection on the side of the road). On the road there are many spots where you can stop your car and enjoy the nature and you can visit Pietrele Doamnei.
