This beautiful state park offers solid hikes for all levels. Beginners can take an easy stroll through the redwoods, while more experienced hikers can take the multi-day hike to Waddell Beach. My only critique is that not all of the trails are well marked (thought this park does much better than other CA state parks). It can also be very... More

I would highly recommend a visit here. Nice, close to nature, noncommercial hiking spot. Well worth the time to visit.

You can not imagine how big a tree can get until you see a Redwood tree up-close. My family and I were amazed. Bring water, hiking shoes and food to eat. It is warm in the basin, but the trees do provide some shade. Family-friendly. Although I saw signs no dogs allowed, I saw many people with them.

Very fun curvy roads, beautiful giant redwoods! Nice change from highway 1 drive from San Francisco!

Worth visiting but parking was almost impossible. Started on a tour but left because it had a boy scout and girl scout troop that were loud and running amuck, as well as a know it all adult scout leader. Unfortunately the trails are not marked very well and when asked about hiking to the closest waterfall was told it was... More

Had an amazing time in the beautiful redwood forest on a gorgeous day. We hiked the trail to the waterfall, can't remember the name...total of 4 miles in and out..just enough for a little workout. Only drawback, the road back to Boulder was closed and we ended up on a one lane curvy mountain road...lil scary. But I love the... More

This was a great place to see redwoods, and I have to say that they had some of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen while traveling. I would not recommend this park if you are driving an oversized vehicle unless you are very comfortable with high drop offs and narrow roads that go to one lane in places. We... More

good place, have many options for hiking from easy & short to difficult and long.. all along huge and amazing trees, markings on the trails are little confusing so its better be along with group (no cellphone coverage at most places).

Such a wonderful place. Just pure magic. 10 mile hike enough for your average walker! Difficult enough but worth the distance and immersing yourself there.

This is a great day trip from the Bay Area, which makes it a popular and sometimes busy place to go. I recommend that you arrive before 10am on Weekdays in the summer, and even earlier on the weekends, or you will run the risk of not finding parking. You will need to buy a $10 daily parking pass. If... More
