Locally inspired exhibits!
Oct 2018 • Family
Been here several times and it's inspiring every time. Lots of ocean and gardening inspired art and photography, such as green gulch art and plastic jewelry reclaimed from the Pacific ocean. Fascinating every time.

This gem of a museum never disappoints.
They always have very interesting and diverse shows in the main galley. The coastal history gallery is full of interesting photos and information.

Quite a Surprise
Mar 2017 • Couples
This was an unexpected surprise in quirky Bolinas. Three lovely buildings have been dedicated to showing a variety of artists. One had chairs made by local artists, ceramic lamps, and a photography display. There was also about a dozen paintings in their permanent collection. Nicely done and well worth a quick stop when visiting.

BUZZ FOUND HERE
Jun 2016
Buzz , the famous and infamous
Owner of Buzzes surf shop in Bolinas is finally getting some well deserved recognition. Buzz was surfing and creating great boards, skate boards and designs, when most of today's surfers, were only a thought in their parents minds. Come see a great exhibit of his work and his history, starting Saturday, June 18, 2016. The new curator, a Harvard educated lady, has put together a show you won't soon forget. If you are a past or current surfer, you can't miss it.
By the way, Bolinas, is past Stinson beach on hiway 1, it's not well marked, nor does it have a sign. Locals know they have a good thing here, and are not quick to share it.

a wonderful museum
Nov 2015 • Friends
We went to the Bolinas Museum for a specific exhibition which was wonderful. We didn't expect to find such a fascinating and well designed museum offering a wide range of visual treats, and history in a tranquil setting. Very worth a visit and the opening hours are easy to discover on their website. Congratulations to everyone for such a special place, especially the woman who had time to explain the work and clearly enjoyed sharing her knowledge.

Excellent and unexpected
Oct 2014 • Couples
I wouldn't have expected a town as small as Bolinas to have a museum and art gallery as good as this, but they do! You have to check when it is open, mostly at weekends if I remember correctly. There is a permanent exhibition with some superb photos of old town Bolinas plus a range of different temporary exhibitions. We saw one about waste and plastic in the oceans and it was chilling, informative and some of the pieces made from the recycled plastic were really interesting. But the highlight was the chap in the museum shop and his knowledge of birds. The hummingbirds clustered around the feeders in the courtyard were astounding and being able to see them close up thanks to his telescope and monitor was wonderful.

Cute Little Museum

I've seen some very interesting exhits here, but it's closed more often than open when I'm in town. Probably due to my time frame that it's.
