Doran Beach Very Dog Unfriendly!

I love listening to the fog horn on those foggy days then suddenly you don't hear it any longer because the sun has come out and you forgot your sunscreen.

Well I am a desert rat so this area was not my cup of tea. It was cold and windy. The marine layer was pretty thick so very little sun. But on the plus side I found lots of lil silver dollars. Cost $7 so just go up the coast a little was on the PCH & u/ find "public... More

We drove through the beach on July 2 which apparently was the same day of a HUGE community firework show. So for someone who likes camping out at the beach this would have been the perfect day ! Unfortunately , it was unusually cold on that day and there was an overcast with lots of fog so many did not... More

We like staying at Doran Beach Campground when the weather warms up in the valley. No hooks up for power or sewer but has dump station ($7.00) with plenty of faucets around to hook up at your camp site (bring multiple hoses). Select your site carefully as it does get windy often and some do offer protection. Fire rings are... More

Doran beach is a great spot to get out and walk the beach and search for shells... No climbing down cliffs to get to the water...

This was a great beach to visit. You can pay to access via the main entrance, or you can park for free at the golf course and have access to a much larger and less crowded beach - excellent for kite flying and hiking/exploring!

My husband and I did an overnight tent visit to Camp Miwok on Doran Beach to see if it would be appropriate to bring our children in the future. Our site (H) was beautiful, well shaded, close to the beach, parking, and the restrooms and showers. It comes with a fire pit (half of which was covered with a grill)... More

I went to this beach with my family about 530 one evening. It was absolutely gorgeous. The beach was pretty clean, there was plenty of parking, the bathroom facilities were clean and close by, there are bbq grills that are readily available and it wasn't crowded at all. What more could you ask for?

We vacation here every summer in the campgrounds. The beach is right across a path and so beautiful. There's a cool beach you can get to by walking through a mini cave. You can see seals occasionally. Lots of seashells and sand dollars.

It's a state park so entrance is $10. They have camping. The good is that it is 2 miles of very wide and very clean beach. But that it is really all it is. You can watch the birds, the waves, and catch a tan, but not much else to do. It seemed like a very safe location where kids... More
