Doran Beach is located in the Doran campground. It's a very clean beach that's great for kite flying and families. There is a fee for day use parking. It's also a nice place to take a long walk on a flat beach. Many people bring their kayaks or small boats, however they also have a boat ramp and fish cleaning... More

Nice family area, easily accessible with close by RV parking. Went early morning Sunday, left about noon and it was getting packed with people. Flat, nice sand for building castles, great for sitting and sketching, sweeping vista. Really nice.

We enjoyed our day on the beach. No wind and the tide was going out at the time. The kids had so much fun. It is a place you need to be in shorts but wear a jacket. The bathrooms were foul. I could tell that they try to maintain them but some people in the public are gross pigs.

We stayed at the entrance to Doran Beach at the Bodega Bay Lodge. That made this beach extremely convenient. It seemed to be a nice family beach and although somewhat private it looked to have a lot of activity for such an isolated looking area right off Hwy 1. There was a campground but we didn't explore. The land feature... More

We walked around a few beaches and also walked around the Bird Walk Coastal Trail. Found some populated beaches as well as some isolated beaches to walk along. Great place to watch the fog roll in and out. Daily entrance fee was $7.

Beautiful beach with the perfect winds for flying a kite. The day use pass is $7. There were lots of campers though I imagine it's quite cold at night. Very serene and picturesque.

A popular beach near Bodega Bay is Doran Park, a Sonoma County Park. We purchased the yearly Sonoma County Regional Parks Senior Day Use Parking Pass, good for one year that costs $49.00 which gives us 12 months of free parking at more than 50 regional parks, plus you receive one free night of camping when you purchase the pass.... We were only here for a quick stop, might have stayed longer but it was very windy & cold, we did get there late in the day. Still beautiful though , great little campsite too. 👍

Well I am a desert rat so this area was not my cup of tea. It was cold and windy. The marine layer was pretty thick so very little sun. But on the plus side I found lots of lil silver dollars. Cost $7 so just go up the coast a little was on the PCH & u/ find "public... More
