The mansion is kept as in the time of the Golestians finding exposed personal belongings of those who lived it, including Carol Davila and his wife.
Behind the mansion is the complex of houses in the wine-growing areas of the country, a museum of the wine-growing village.
The cold, unpressive, hostile staff.
Although it is forbidden to shoot with cameras unless the photography fee is paid, it is not specified anywhere, you are warned in a hostile tone that the fee should only be paid at half the visit.
Shooting with the phone is allowed.

Great place to get an idea how houses were built over 100 years ago Many objects related to wine production and storage. Beautiful villa of a famous local family of politicians and culture inclined to support education. Children can do pony backriding as well. Good stuff.

A very nice place to spend a day. A place full of history, the guides and personnel are very welcoming and kind (We were guided by mister Dragos Miu who is very passionate and knowledgeable). Besides the historic house of the Golescu family, there is a wonderful museum full of old and historic houses from all over Romania.
It would be good to have with you some sandwiches/food since there isn't a place where you can buy food (or at least I couldn't find).

I visited this open air museum during a rainy day and this was a disantvandage by its own. It will a perfecr place for a nice walk during a sunny day. Nevertheless the personell was very kind and helpful. I have seen one of the first schools in Romania in the place it ws settled and a nice but small exhibition of books and coverpages.
The main buliding is restored very well and there is worthy to be visited as well as the collection of traditional items. The traditional buildings from all over Romania are also very interesting and especially a wooden church.
Actually it is a place to spend a day when the weathr is really good.
One disantavandage may be considered that all labels or almost all are in Romanian only so that foreign visitors have no chance to understand clearly what they wirte.

It is a wonderful way to find out about the old ways of living in the Romanian countryside - both the rich(the Golescu family) and not the so rich(the peasants).
There are a lot of objects from the 1900 - 1950s period.
The small village is very well organized including a "city hall". There are also some animals(sheeps and horses).
At the ticket office you can buy some local wines(some small quantities beware :) ), jams and other souvenirs.
On the other side of the road there is an old church(next time i'm visiting it).
