Always a great stop for the kids

The ranger led walk was enjoyable and informative. The rangers and docents were helpful with questions and kid activities.

The center is equipped with informative data about Big Bear Lake. Its location is very accessible from both the Lake area and the City area and it is on the side of the mountain that the drive going there is quite a scenic route and during our visit to Big Bear Lake the snow added beauty to the scenery. The center is your one stop information shop on local trails, wildlife, and obtaining wilderness permits. Friendly and knowledgeable rangers are available to answer questions about the area and occasionally lead short ranger hikes. In the winter months you can learn to snow shoe here. You can also obtain a National Park Pass, a daily Forest Pass needed to park... More

They are never too busy to answer any question you have, even if it's not Discovery Center related. There is a beautiful easy trail you can walk with the entire family including little ones. Love stopping by the Center... More

Being dog friendly, we really enjoyed letting our dogs inside, & smell the furs they had available from local animals. We all learned something about the area. Guides very pleasant.

Nicely laid out and cool exhibits. And questions you have can be answered by the staff. They are very helpful. Bathrooms are clean and warm when it's cold out
