Nice Place to Get Out and Stretch

This was a fun, quick stop for us. My daughter drives a Beetle, so we enjoyed seeing this "cousin" of the Cadillac Ranch. My son also found a geocache at this spot.

Located right by the highway / Route 66 it is very convenient to stop at the slug bug ranch to take some pictures. Too bad nobody cleans up the area, there are empty paint cans and other trash all over the place. Of course there are not trash cans available either. It had rained before but there was enough grassy... More

I was so excited to see the Slug Bug Ranch after seeing Cadillac Ranch and found it a bit of let down. It is clearly abandoned and the weeds have grown up. If you are a photographer you could probably get some interesting shots but if it's not on your travel route I don't feel like you would miss much... More

I recently visited this place and it's amazing art! It's sort of like the caddaliac ranch. It's a neat place for pictures and it doesn't cost anything to stop. Unless you decide to bring a can of spray paint. Personally I loved it and my photos turned out great!

Sticking cars in the ground isn't as unusual as it used to be. Using old cars and covering them with graffiti is a new twist.

This is a great place to stop and stretch your legs. It's got that fabulous vibe of how the Route 66 was in its day, with the abandoned gas station and nearby buildings. Plus, with the bonus of these fun bugs which are great to photograph.

We found this by accident. We were on I-40 and needed gas. The exit we took was right beside Slug Bug ranch. The cars are V.W's and they are so cute. I believe there were 5. The grass and weeds had grown up around the cars but we still took lots of photos. We had been to Cadillac ranch and... More

VW Slug Bug Ranch can be seen from Route 40, but you are whizzing by at 70+ miles, so take the time to stop. About 29 miles before Amarillo; use exit 96 (going east to west) take ramp, take left at stop sign, go over I-40 bridge and take immediate right. A smaller and less crowded version of Cadillac Ranch... More

We just happened upon this little sight when exiting so my daughter could hit the potty (again) after Cadillac Ranch. I have to say, I think I prefer Slug Bug Ranch. It's like a mini ghost town, and there's an abandoned building (gas station/restaurant) next to it. When we stopped, it was pretty overgrown, which added to the eeriness for... More
