The only downside to 4th Street is trying to find parking. There is an Apple Store here but is not my favorite one of all the Apple stores. I heard it was built because Steve Jobs liked the area and wanted to have an Apple store in Berkeley. But I seem to get better service at the Emeryville Apple Store.... More

We've been to Fourth Street on several recent trips to Berkeley. There are some shops and restaurants that we enjoy, and one or two amazing surprises, but it has a little bit of the feel of a very high end open air shopping mall. It's really better than that, but there's no question that you are "experiencing a development".

Love the fishmarket and other specialty stores like Apple. Meet nice folks when drinking a cup of coffee at the outdoor cafe.

Had originally planned a trip to Sausalito but bridge backed up. Decided to take a look at this much talked about area. Lots of shops and restaurants. Good area to walk your pup!

This is the place to go if you have a good two hours to spend having brunch and then going shopping. It's not a quick stopover.

Fun place to walk around and eat. Lots of shops, but very expensive. Great place to walk dogs. Fun to window shop, but expensive to buy. Great food and deli, lots of cooking equipment and things at the kitchen store.

Location of several good restaurants, specialty shops, great yoga studio. Easy walking/strolling area. Parking is a challenge, but do-able.

We love Fourth Street for the unique stores and the ability to shop outdoors. We are in the Bay Area once a month and make a point of walking Fourth Street. The parking can be challenging at times but we just park far away and enjoy the stroll. Our favorite place is the Gardener Store and have bought many beautiful... More
