This theater/arena is centrally located in downtown Bakersfield. I visited the theater recently. First was The Nutcracker Ballet followed by the Willy Nelson and Family concert and finally The Kern County Schools Honors bands concert this week. The viewing is good from all the seats. The sound quality is excellent. The employees are very courteous and helpful if you need assistance. Parking is across the street in pay parking lot or behind the facility. Highly recommend this theater venue for any of the shows and concerts.

I've been to Rabobank, now Mechanics Bank Convention center for many events including boxing, Hockey, Opera, Orchestra. In each of these events, it's been clean, well staffed, organized and professional. I would highly recommend it as a venue for any large event.

Rabobank is actually 2 buildings - the theater and arena.
The theater is dated but does the job.
The arena is great for hockey but has terrible acoustics for music. I attended one concert here. I would not pay to do so again. It isn't worth the money for the quality of sound - it sounded like being inside a tunnel. The seats in the upper level are cramped but in the lower level are comfortable.

I took three of my grandkids to the Condor game and they had a fun time. We enjoyed their popcorn, cokes, ice cream and candy. Restrooms were close by and so was the snack bars. We must have had good seat locations. The facility was well keeper and functional.

Seats are not great, very crammed together. Best large venue locations in Bakersfield though. Air conditioning works well which is important in that area. Parking can be iffy. Like all venues the concessions are steep.

Rabobank arena was to be a premier venue for entertainment in Kern County. However, each time I have attended an event there, have been disappointed. The acoustics are horrible, with reverb in the higher level seats. The seats are small with no leg room at all. I am short and my knees were touching the back of the seats in front of me. My husband at 6'3''could never attend anything there comfortably. The seats are so close together, if feels like the builders were trying to cram as many seats in the space as possible. I would much rather see a show at the Fox.

I purchased orchestra seats tonight for Mike Epps, wasn't a sell out so ushers moved all the cheap seats up front as the opening act started. People that moved up were so rude, talking loud, took their sweet time finding a seat, ushers were in the way, it was ridiculous, we missed the first act. I felt bad for the guy on stage, he had to talk so loud because the audiance wouldn't shut up. Wouldn't be surprised if they don't come back. So, if you plan on purchasing decent seats at Rabobank Convention Center, maybe you'll save some money if you purchase cheap seats, cause they'll just move you to the good ones. Way to go Bakersfield.

Watched the Condors play and the crowd was all into the game. I really enjoy moments when the sporting event takes over the crowd.
A very good hockey game/match, well played.
good seats at a reasonable price. $42.00 wasn't bad to have a good time

Hello - I have never been to this theater and will be traveling to Bakersfield to see Jack White in August.. Soooo excited! My question is about what the best seating would be -- Orch PIt or first few rows of Orchestra? -- there are Orchestra PIT tickets, which sounds awesome, but I can't tell if I would be able to see anything because it looks like I'd actually be down in an actual PIT lol! .. I would do anything to be right there in front of JW's face but it'll suck if I pay premium price to be up close but not be able to see because I'm only 5'2" and this pit may be deep... I have googled like crazy trying to find pics of what the PIT's view would be, to no avail.. Has anyone been at a rock concert in the Orch PIt.. what exactly is that like? thanks!

The Orchestra Pit seating is just like it says!! You are sitting in chairs on the level seating area on the floor! We like to get seating right behind the Orchestra pit. In the middle as much as possible! A huge venue, with no BAD seating actually. Enjoy!
