This attraction can be seen from I-15 heading either north or south. It is situated in the town of Baker. Baker is a wayside on the way to or from Vegas. There are a number of fast food restaurants/gas stations. The thermometer is just a curious oddity that has no attraction appeal, not enough to get you to stop.

Stop by to not only get a close up of the world's largest thermometer, but meet the people who began it all. The gift shop carries not only thermometer souvenirs, but also glimpses into the history and culture and adventures to be found in the surrounding areas or for the rest of your road trip. Our favorite was meeting Loray... More

A little whimsy in a very desert covered terrain. This landmark is not only functional but it is also a great conversation piece when tell people of your travels.

Its always good to stop at a world record monument. It's a great place to have one given the extreme heat that you get in Baker. I wouldn't travel just to see this but its a good place to stop on your way to Vegas.

Our kids had heard about the world's tallest thermometer from a friend, and were excited to see it on our drive toward Las Vegas. It's nothing special, but is a landmark as you drive across the desert. We drove by at 8:30pm, and it read 109, which intrigued our kids. You can see it clearly from the interstate, and it's... Not sure what stopping here gets you. Everything you need can be seen from the road in an air conditioned car. There's ample parking if you do stop.

The only decent thing adjacent the terrible Mad Greek was this monstrosity of a thermometer which registered the horrific heat we faced in Baker.

It's really not much more than a giant pole with lighted numbers on it, and for years it wasn't even working properly, or at all. It has been refurbished, looks nice and seems to be accurate, but you can see it just fine from the freeway, so there's no reason to stop and look at it unless you're also there... More

Made the stop at Largest Thermometer a day it was super cool on a "hot" day....lol..The couple who run it our very friendly and full of knowledge about the history of the Thermometer. Clean and quaint gift shop and bathroom. It's worth the stop! And, it's important to make the stop to take a picture with a piece of "Americana"... More
