Donned slippers to skid round a guided tour of almost empty rooms in a small wing of a state owned chateau. Not cheap either . The only salvation was that the guide didn’t linger . Suggest you give this a miss in favour of many...More

Veltrusy castle used to belong to the Chotek noble family. It started asi a hunting lodge, because of the adjacent forest park ( breeding of follow deers). The scenery is wonderful. Open april-october.

Recomended! Beautiful chateau, calm place, silent, perfect for a picnic in a sunny weekend in the garden.

Nice and large garden to walk or have a picnic. You can also rent a bike here. The castle itself is not open. We had also some lunch in the castle restaurant, and it was tasty for reasonable price.

Castle is small but nice and romantic. You can see 12 statues which belongs to each horoscope period. There are large gardens where you can see horses or deers and you can walk here for hours and you will always admire new places.

The castle itself is quite small, however, the garden provides enough space. It's great for summer walks. You can take your dog with you but you need to keep it on a leash. Part of the garden is a deer pen. Great for nature lovers.

I am sorry, but it seems that main building will not opened, maybe next year, because renovation of this building is not still done.
