Meads bay is regularly voted in the top 10 beaches in the world, and rightfully so. It has a wonderful soft sand beach and the swimming area has no rocks or big shells to spoil things. We like to settle at Blanchard’s Beach Shack (chairs...More
We stopped here on a boat Reid from st Maarten , the beach like many on the island is absolutely beautiful, snorkel near the shore I found lots of whole shells . The water was very warm about 84 and the surf was almost nonexistent....More
This beach is regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. It’s a nice Long Beach with the Four Seasons Hotel at one end. Powder soft sand and crystal clear warm water. It doesn’t get any better. Lots of reconstruction work going...More

Depending on how many of the 33 beaches in Anguilla you visited, you can imagine how hard it is to pick the number one beach. As of June 2018 the south facing beaches are plagued with sargassum weed. Places like Sandy Hill, Junks Hole, Savana...More

Sandy bottom yes. u will see 2 kinds of silver fish very close to shore all along meads bay. But go next to the rocks under Malli and you will see at least 5 different kinds of fish less than 100 feet from the beach. i did not go very far out at all but i'm sure there are even more fish further out near the rock wall. Have not snorkeled at shoal.

How Far Is ......... ?? (3 Replies)
As you may know from an earlier post we are considering 2 or 3 nights in Anguilla at the end of our SXM vacation. A couple general questions...... How far from Blowing Point is Meads Bay? Shoal Bay? How far are these two beaches from each other? How far is the nearest market from these two beaches? Nothing fancy, just beer, wine, cereal, milk, snacks. Walking distance? Also, considering cab vs. car rental. How much could I rent a car for (roughly) for 72 hours (noon Friday to...More

Nearest market from Meads Bay would be about three minutes up the hill to Christine Flemings. Food 95 which is a little bigger is about 5 minutes from Meads. Ku has a small store for the basics right on Shoal Bay.
Meads Bay (9 Replies)
Every time I think I've found my ideal hotel I read about construction work! (e.g. Shoal's Bay) This is also apparently a problem in Mead's Bay. Anyone know anything please??

Where on Mead's Bay? It's a long beach and the Malliouhana end has little to worry about.
Walk to Foods 95 from Viceroy-ish? and some other questions (4 Replies)
Hi TA experts - I know the Foods 95 supermarket is on the main road before you get to Viceroy, but can we walk from the hotel to the store? We are not staying at Viceroy, but I am using it as a landmark. If I am walking down Meads Bay beach, is there a better place (another hotel/restaurant) to pop out to access the main road (vs. Viceroy)? I guess the question is, what is the closest access point on Meads to Foods 95. Is there any place on the West end that would deliver a pizza?...More

Yes, it is a long driveway from the hotel to the road, I see Viceroy guests at Foods95 in golf carts driven by Viceroy employees. You could exit at Straw Hat or Ocean Echo out on to Meads Bay Road, and then walk up the big hill to Foods 95 – still a long walk in the heat. No pizza, not since Une Amore closed, but all restaurants on Meads Bay have take out. Plumeria at Frangipani may sell these items – that’s the only place I can think of – you will pay an arm and a leg at Viceroy. ...More
