Meads Bay is stunning. We stayed on Meads Beach during our stay, and it was the calmest beach out of all the ones we went to. There are great restaurants along the beach. The sand is so soft! It is almost hard to walk in because it’s so soft. I highly recommend staying on this beach and also visiting as you beach hop.

This is a simply amazing Bay on Anguilla- I would say it has the best beach on the island. The water is quite clear on most days (a little less on windy days), and the cove down on the right past Leon's is the perfect place to float in the water for hours. We met some of the best people in the water (and they came from all over the island) just to enjoy Meads Bay. Hopefully the pictures show it's beauty!

Our Star Flyer cruise ship made a stop in Anguilla on Sunday, March 13, 2022. We chose to take a taxi with another couple to Meads Bay Beach to see if the beach was truly as spectacular as we had been led to believe. Reality often does not meet expectation; this time it did! Wow, this beach did not disappoint! It is simply drop-dead gorgeous, with a lengthy walking beach, luxuriously soft white sand, and amazingly blue calm water. The water was flat and great for floating (which we love!). Meads Bay Beach is not overbuilt with huge towering condos, and on this day, the beach was almost empty! (We don't know if this is still due to COVID?) We do plan to return soon, and next time, it will be for several days, not hours!

Stunnng bay and beach. Soft white sand, blue waters, and decent restaurants and bars for refreshments! Not necessarily unique in the World, but has to be one of the best.

It was quiet, but Covid presumably was the reason.

Our family's favorite beach in the entire world -- we've simply given up on finding a more perfect beach. It's never crowded, and the sunsets are exquisite. The many restaurants and places to stay (Tranquility Beach is perfectly situated at the mid-point) are just icing on the cake.

Meads Bay is my absolute favorite beach in the world. Softest sand. Cove beach with cave at one end. Wonderful restaurant along the beach such as Straw Hat my favorite. Food delicious and menu varied. Bella Blu is the best place to stay right in the middle of the long beach.

If you haven't noticed, I've written a review on Captain's Bay, Anguilla. I rated Captain's Bay my favorite beach, but I just had to write about Mead's Bay as well. Like I've said, spent two weeks on Anguilla, hitting practically all the beaches. Mead's Bay was my second favorite. Your classic Caribbean beach, on the northwest side of the island, Atlantic side, views of the horizon are breathtaking, sand so white, and the color of the water changes constantly. Doesn't get crowded at all. A few hotels are on the beach, but it doesn't detract from the fact why this beach is rated by some travel magazines/agents as one of the top ten beaches in the word.

Anguilla lacks nothing in terms of beautiful beaches. Some of these beaches have beautiful white sand as fine as baby powder and some are rocky. Some are calm and some are a bit rougher. Some are flat and some are surrounded by cliffs. Indeed, the variety of Anguilla's beaches is incredible given the size of this tiny island.

Having been to Anguilla three times and being beach fanatics, we have visited the great majority of the beaches and we have enjoyed them all for different reasons. From picture perfect Maunday's bay to jaw dropping Shoal Bay, they all have something that makes them special. However, one stands out above all and that is Meads Bay.

With its incredible hues of blue, crystal clear waters and beautiful pinkish white sand, Meads Bay is a beach lover's dream. The surf is calm most of the time, but when it gets rough is beautiful to look at. Also, the bay is not over developed thus you will have all the tranquility and space that you need. We have rarely seen more than twenty people in the whole beach. Moreover, there is a small dirt road in the middle of the bay where you can access the beach and have a good expanse of it all for yourselves. If you get hungry, there are some excellent options to choose from whether for luch or dinner. Straw Hat, Ocean Echo and Blanchard's beach shack are some of them.

Meads bay is a large open expanse of beach. So, if you feel that you need a little more intimacy, I highly recommend walking to the small cove at the east end of the beach right next to Malliouhana. Walk on top of the rocks and admire the crystal clear blue ocean, enjoy a beautiful sunset or snorkle around the caves to exlpore some marine life.

Although Meads Bay's stunning beauty is enough to take anyone by storm, it is more the feelings it conveys that make it magical. The aura of well being, tarnquility and peace that can be experienced on this beach is really something that develops into a special connection with it.

We have experienced some very special moments on Meads Bay that would take too long to describe, but they are memories that we will carry in our hearts for the rest of our lives. That is why we always make sure we say our goodbyes to Meads before we leave the island. In fact, the last time we were there to say goodbye it was a cloudy morning and the sea looked a bit gray. As soon as we walked towards the beach, the cloud cover broke and Meads showed us its beautiful blue colors for the last time on our trip. It is simply magical!

I was shocked to see what greed is doing to a beautiful beach. Meads Bay Beach is about a mile long and extends from the old Maluhani Hotel to the rocky point that the new Viceroy Hotel sits on. Meads Bay's water has always been very calm, but not calm enough for the Viceroy people. They are now dumping tons of rocks into the water and creating their own reef to calm the water even more. But the side effects of this change in what nature set up has damaged the rest of the beach. What used to be a gentle slope into the water from the sand is now a steep drop. What used to be gentle waves are now strong but small waves, that even make it hard to climb out of the water.

I guess Mother Nature is upset because, as we were having dinner at the wonderful Straw Hat Restaurant we saw that one of the barges Viceroy was using to carry the rocks had tipped sideways. The people at Straw Hat said it was a Godsend.

Please raise your voices against this awful project.

one of the hardest thing to do in Anguilla is to decide on which beach you will go to each day, with Mead Bay no exception, has plenty of hotels offering sun loungers for guests only but only too pleased to allow you to buy a drink at their bar and to use the facilities on the beach and retrooms, after all act like a guest and you will be treated as one, naturaaly avoid the little B&B's as they will know you are not a guest but the larger ones can not remember everyone.
The Beaches are are also nice white sand not quite as white as Shoal Bay East, )do not confuse with Shoal Bay West which is not as good) but still nice and the sea many shades of blue, enjoy
