About
Get Up And Go Colombia is an organization that promotes tourism in Colombia, in regions previously affected by the armed conflict. Through activities and projects based on diversity and inclusion, we transform former war zones into cultural and gastronomic destinations for national and international tourists. We see sustainable tourism as a tool for peacebuilding and for socio-economic development in Colombia. For that reason all our activities and projects are both led by and are for young people, victims of the armed conflict, the LGBTIQ community, vulnerable and indigenous peoples. Enjoy our activities and live your experience from a different perspective. -

I did both the Sunday trekking tour and the city walking tour with Get Up and Go Colombia. Both tours were very informative - I learned a lot about the history of Popayan, both ancient and more recent. It really is a fascinating city, and the tour allows you to discover buildings you probably would have missed out on if you were on your own. On the trekking tour we went to Las Tres Cruces, which offers a great view of the whole city.
Thanks a lot to John Jairo and Camilo for being such passionate & knowledgeable guides!
In addition to the tours, Get Up and Go Colombia organises a lot of other activities, including language exchanges. I think it is a fantastic organisation to support if you're in the White City!

The Tour guided by two very nice girls was very interesting and fun! You got to see places you wouldn't have easily seen on your own and the explanations were in-depth but always entertaining. For us it was very advantageous that the tour was in very good English. Overall a great experience and a very clear recommendation for a stay in Popayan.

Popayan was a great city to visit, if you aren't going this far south reconsider!!! One of those reasons is this tour, I thoroughly enjoyed it and even though we did enter multiple buildings I was left with a list of places to go in my free time over my next two days.
Learning about the history of Popayan and it's different populations, gender roles, discrimination, etc was very thought provoking.

I'm not happy with this place. I booked the walking tour and they didn't even show up. I sent them a message on their Facebook account to ask if they were still doing the tours and there was no response. I sent them a message on WhatsApp and there was no response.

This walking tour is run by people who sincerely love their city and enjoy meeting new people. I joined 2 of their tours. The first one is their regular Free Walking Tour around the city with Samuel and Steven as my guide. Not only enjoying the historical stories of the white city, I was taken to a local cafe to taste the signature drink and local snacks, and I'm glad I did because it was good. The end of the tour was breathtaking, we went up a hill and got to see the sunset from the top of Popayan. I couldn't think of any better way to end the tour. For the sunset, of course you have to take the afternoon tour.
The next day, I took the Free Trekking Tour with John and Daniel. This time we took a different hill and trek to go up to see a different view of Popayan and visit the Three Crosses. Again, the ending of the tour was just great! We tried the most delicious yet simple empanadas fresh from the frying pan with its tasty sour-spicy salsa! LOVED IT! Thanks, guys. Popayan will never be forgotten.

This walking tour is not only a tour of the main places of interest in the old Popayan, but great fun with English student practising their English (which is really good). Having conversations with them about culture, art and customs as well as events in Colombia was just so enlightening and interesting. Absolutely brilliant - thank you guides.

Excellent organisation that fill their tours, experiences and services with passion and professionalism throughout. An organisation that needs to expand its services to not only Colombia but worldwide! Best tour guides ever!

We joined this tour today and were glad we did! Our guide, John, was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great time seeing a few places we otherwise would have not seen in Popayán. We hiked up to Tres Cruces hill after walking to some city sights (of which most are not on the Get Up and Go regular city tours). It had rained heavily the night before so some parts were a little bit slippery. Wear proper shoes- hiking shoes or trainers. At the top, there are two stands selling fresh empanaditas which were delicious!
Highly recommend the tour and guide, John!

Get up and go Colombia is a very interesting organization run by young and idealistic people in Popayan, wanting to show the optimistic, innovative side of Colombia, believing in peace, culture and understanding. We followed Spanish course for four days with Miguel, one of the young and very clever and pedagogical Spanish teachers. Also very good English speaking. Get up and go Colombia do also do free street walking tours and dancing classes. They can custom make the Spanish courses to fit your needs. We also got a lot of insider information about places to eat and things to experience in Popayan. We think organizations like Get up and go Colombia is important in the process of building peace in the country.
We found Get up and go Colombia through popayantours.com, but they also have a Facebook group.
Do not pass Popayan without making contact with Get up and go Colombia!
