Worth the visit on your first day!

Pleasant walk to the top of a hill in the middle of cajamarca. If you feel lazy, you can take a taxi to the top, but the walk is easily doable. Great views!

Beautiful staircase to a great view

We walked up many steps and enjoyed the amazing style of stairs as well as a wonderful view from the top. You can take your time and there are lots of vendors at different stages.

Take a hike.

I was wandering Plaza de Armas and started walking up the interesting hill. From the church, you have to pay 1 sole to enter. The climb is worth it. You gave a beautiful view of Cajamarca in front of you. Don’t miss it if you have a few hours. Highly recommend.

mediocre hill
May 2018 • Friends
not a terrible hill but it lacks that extra touch to be a great hill. It definitely could be worse but it was not too impressive. Go on Sunday to see a very cool market on the way there.

Worth the climb
Nov 2017 • Solo
This hill gives you a great view of Cajamarca. Well worth the climb. Very safe, even at night. The main stairway and church near the top are lit up at night and make good pictures. There is a one peso charge to access the direct route to the top.

Beautiful view well earned by climbing up the stairs
Dec 2017 • Business
We climbed up all the stairs and were rewarded by amazing views of the valley and city of Cajamarca. The climb is doable if you go slowly. There are little shops along the way to rest in and shop.
It is one sole to go up past the Church. Nice park area there. This is near the Plaza de Armas. You can take a taxi if you are not up to the hike up, After hiking up we walked down the back side into the area on the other side.

Nice view
Sep 2017 • Solo
Nice view on the city. You'll have to pay around 1 sole to enter and there's two entries. One behind the plaza de armas and one behind the cerro on the crossroad where you can catch combis to the Cumbemayo.
