The reason why this place makes it so lovely is that the scenery changes by the day or better by the hour. It's never a dull moment here and you'll love to see those changes, weather it's the sunset or the sunrise.
A great wee stop on the NC500; with a fantastic view south across the Kyle, at any time of the tide, to Ben Hope and Ben Loyal. Chances of otters and eagles, although more likely to see eider, twite, linnet and small shorebirds.
We had the most amazing tour from Tongue South past Loch Loyal to Altnaharra and then west on every narrow singletrack road where the passing places were virtually non existent. But all worth it for the magnificence of the mountain scenery.
