Wonderful beach and cliff walk ...
Sep 2020
This vibrant cliff and beach walk from Clachtoll to Store is a gentle stroll which takes about an hour. The beach is a gem, unspoilt white sands. Great views out to sea and if you time it right, magical sunsets.

Braw Wee Broch
Aug 2020 • Family
Stopped at Clachtoll beach for a picnic - so wonderful and picturesque with its white sand and open aspect. It was so relaxing that we decided to stay longer than we'd intended and enjoyed a walk up to the recently restored/excavated Broch for a glimpse of life in days long gone by - a marvellous insight to life in the area as it was

Amazing
Nov 2019 • Couples
First time to this recently excavated Broch. It’s in amazing condition and one of the best we have seen. Well worth the short walk from Clachtoll beach to see how our ancestors lived. The only negative was someone had vandalised the information sign....... why ??

One of the best places to see sunsets

A fantastic campsite on one of the most beautiful parts of the NC500. We've stayed here twice and love the facilities and friendly atmosphere at the campsite, just behind the fantastic beaches with lovely walks. Can be busy, so book!

What a difference since being excavated.
Jul 2019 • Family
What a difference since being excavated, sfter many years just walking overvthe piles of rovks, with just the outer wall recognisable there is so much more to it. More entrances, steps, double walls.a bit of hidden history now on show.

Stunning history
Jul 2019 • Couples
The broch is a short walk from Clachtoll campsite and is a truly amazing piece of history which is free to access and totally unspoilt. The internal layout was still as it was a few thousand year ago. Was well worth the visit

Interesting site to visit
May 2019 • Couples
Only relatively-recently fully uncovered, and still being worked upon by archaeologists, this is located at the southern end of Store Bay, about 7 miles from Lochinver. The North 500 route runs alongside.

There is a path from Store Bay beach to the Broch but it is rough and not signposted in any way. There is very little information about the Broch on-site and not much more on the Internet. I hope more will be provided in due course.

As other reviewers have warned, keep dogs on a leash as sheep wander freely about this area. Don't ignore such advice, as many signs warn that dogs risk being shot, if found among sheep!

The path can be rough in places and is not suitable for the unfit or disabled.
