I just love it here. A white sand beach in the UK, who'd have thought it!? So peaceful in the winter.

Stayed here for one night with our camper van. Shop and chippy closed due to time of year but that was understandable. When we arrived at the reception, we were greeted by a very rude woman who booked us in. I got the impression that...More

Stunning location, well worth negotiating the narrow winding road. The WiFi Service was very welcome as no phone signal. Facilities clean & well kept, able to pitch up really close to the shore. Stunning beach - great place to escape to and recharge your batteries....More

It is well worth a visit as it has white sands and that turquoise sea but if you’re camping, I’d go to Clachtoll. It’s a bit further on but it allows dogs, has great owners and a fabulous wee shop alongside that sells everything. We...More

Most beautiful spot. The beach near the campsite is lovely but make the effort to walk overthe hill and there is a quieter, more secluded beach. White sand & turquoise sea. Sheer heaven.

Just a short detour off the B869, this is an attractive beach with lovely white sand and gently shelving, turquoise blue water. It was very clean when we visited and is a lovely spot.

Clean showers and toilets, beautiful setting. Amazing place. Only suggestion - could do with providing more bins as they are often overflowing and providing recycling.

A fantastic little beach. White fine sand, turquoise waters and safe for a swim. There were jellyfish when we visited so a wetsuit might be advisable. We just sat on the beach and chilled even though it was chilly, with a bit of sunshine it...More

I had my dog with me all the time. No problems at all. Beautiful beaches, even nicer people. Most places allow dogs. Pubs often allow dogs just in the bars. We stayed at dog friendly bed and breakfasts and all were superb... More

I always use the beach guide online to check where we can take our Labrador. We took him on the beach at Achmelvich in March (and it is just stunningly beautiful) but he was not allowed on the land belonging to the Caravan... More

north-west highlands itinerary for 11 days – beg. July 2017 (12 Replies)
hey there, finally the time has come and we (my husband, me and our 9- and 11-year old girls) are planning our second trip to Scotland, hooray!  I have been trying to soak up as much info as I could through last couple of weeks and happen to have a quite detailed itinerary so far. Though nothing booked yet, I have a fairly clear idea about when, where and for how long to go. Originally I wanted to do a whole North Coast 500, but I figured out it would have been too much for us, especially...More

Holiday lettings are almost always from Friday or Saturday so this will limit your choices unless you are prepared to pay for the Saturday and not turn up until Sunday.

My Scotland Itinerary - Are we missing anything? (22 Replies)
My husband and I are newlyweds traveling to Scotland May 4-15th. Our itinerary is below - are we missing something neat that we could easily add into our current plans? All of our accommodations are already booked so our route is not too flexible at this point - I'm more looking for stops "along the way" to our destination or "must see" attractions in our planned stops. We are interested in nature, landscape, wildlife, and the local culture and food. Driving routes between our stops are also...More

Hi, I was going to suggest a couple of places, but I hesitate as your scedule is fairly busy already. But, in case you have time..... On the way to Durness, see the Whaligoe Steps and the stacks at Duncansby Head. Going to Skye, try and drive down the Bealach na BA, East of Applecross. Also pause in Plockton, and see Eilan Donan before crossing to Skye. I dont think you have time for Mull. Why New Cumnock? Places around there - Wanlockhead, Culzean Castle. Hope this helps,...More

11 day itinerary-check April (13 Replies)
Hi! A while ago I already asked some questions on here on which parts of Scotland to cover in my first trip. After a lot of planning we have come up with a (final) itinerary. I just wanted to share it here to help other people and for a small check-up from people who know the country way better than me. DAY 1 (First of April) Belgium 21u55 Edinburgh 22u35 Basically just getting to our hotel. DAY 2 Edinburgh (little bit of exploring) 1pm: car pick-up Loch Ness Falls of...More
