This is a pleasant, small garden centre set in a walled garden with espalier fruit trees on the south-facing wall. There is a shop and cafe. Some of the outside seating for the cafe is under cover to keep the benches dry. You may need to book a table if you wish to eat indoors. The cheese scones are tasty and the cake portions are generous.
It is very popular on Sunday.

Visited on Wednesday 9th June with 4 other friends we immediately unwelcome although the table was pre booked, was as if the staff could not be bothered with our custom. The bacon was absolutely awful the worst Iv ever eaten! My wife’s sandwich came after everyone else had eaten and had to ask again for it. The gardens were gorgeous but won’t be back to visit again.

Lovely cafe

Great cafe with good covid measures. The sandwiches were wonderfully fresh with local produce.. Just had to stop again on the way back to Perthshire. Oh yes and just happened to squeeze in a victoria plum tree into the car. Got some great advice from the garden centre.

Very disappointing experience
Sep 2020
I've visited this coffee shop a few times pre pandemic and always enjoyed both eat out experience & the food. Sadly today I was so disappointed. Whilst having precautions of hand gel & queuing signs in place it was clear that staff couldn't be bothered with the inconvenience of having to speak & give direction to customers as to what system they had in place & also what food was on offer. I felt very uncomfortable.
I was then very disappointed to have my sit in the coffee shop food passed to me in paper cups and paper bags, including sandwiches which were pre-packed. If I had wanted a takeaway lunch I would have gone to the bakers and certainly not been charged coffee shop price for it.
We visited for the whole going out experience, nice cups, plates etc. There's no need to add to the throw away society (even though recyclable), other establishments are managing to deliver services on proper plates & cups using dishwashers to clean.
On a positive the homebaking is delicious.
Sorry but even nice baking wouldn't be enough to get me back just now until I hear things have improved.

I'm sorry that you found your visit to Woodside disappointing and didn't appreciate our signs to help customers know where to go and what to do. All business are adapting to operating in this time of a global pandemic, and many cafes have chosen not to open just yet, as it is so difficult to manage in a way that keeps everyone safe - staff and visitors. Obviously, the way we are having to operate just now is far from "normal", and our prices in the tearoom have been reduced to reflect this., but at the moment it is a way that is keeping everyone safe, and most of our customers appreciate this, and luckily we are busier than ever at this time. Hopefully you'll feel comfortable returning to Woodside once all safety restrictions have been lifted in Scotland and normality has been restored.

Disappointed in cafe food
Aug 2020 • Couples
Did a detour to go to the tearoom for lunch after seeing great reviews. Social distancing and cleaning was extremely evident to the point of staff making you feel like a contaminated, unwanted visitor. Lunch was the choice of a refrigerated pre-packed sandwich or a take-away cup of soup. Coffee was revolting; tasteless and weak. Total cost was £12.
Cakes were available but we had lost interest by then.

I'm so sorry you were disappointed in our tearoom. We have made the decision to currently serve all our food and drinks in disposable packaging in order to keep both staff and customers safe during the pandemic. Our menu is currently restricted due to limited seating capacity caused by the requirement to adhere to social distancing, and to reduce overcrowding in our food preparation areas. Our sandwiches, whilst served in packs rather than on a plate with a side salad, are freshly made each day. I'm pleased that you noticed our social distancing measures of 2 metres and our cleaning regime - that shows the tearoom staff are doing their job properly in keeping everyone safe in accordance with Scottish Government guidelines. The coffee we serve is a very popular brew and we have been using this brand for many years now, and seems to suit most, but evidently not all tastes. Obviously, our tearoom is not operating in quite the same way as usual, but we are pleased to be open after being closed for so long, and we are enjoying catching up with all our customers, both old and new, who are appreciating the opportunity to get out and about.

Blooming good find!!!
Mar 2020
Only called for a coffee and were greeted by very friendly staff after wandering through a massive array of plants etc, for sale.
Very welcoming, dry, warm and clean. Good coffee and traybakes on offer although the `double` espresso was minuscule having been served in an oversized cup.
Well off the beaten track it was worth the effort to search it out.

Superb baking

The garden centre itself was nice and there was a good selection at reasonable prices. However, many people come here for the cafe as the baking is itself worth coming for.

Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your visit, especially the cakes. I'll pass your compliments to all my bakers who work hard to keep up with demand. The plant centre is at it's best in April - July - not so great at this time of year as winter approaches, although our Christmas display in the shop is well worth a look....

Lovely place
Sep 2019 • Couples
Visited today 28th, for the first time, travelling home, from a holiday in Perthshire.
Although we are at the back end of the season, there were still plenty of plants to look at, and my wife was given good advice on gardening matters.
We ate in the cafe, which was very tasty, and fair value for money.
Would certainly return at a later date if in the area.

Afternoon tea
Sep 2019 • Couples
Have been to Woodside a few times and overall it is a pleasant place to visit. My only criticism is the cafe which offers cappuccinos in a glass for £2.35 or mug for£2.65. I opted for a mug thinking I would receive a bigger drink only to be served with the smallest cup of cappuccino I have ever had ! After two mouthfuls of coffee I was left with frothy milk left in the cup and did not think it was worth anything like the price charged. If you're going to advertise a mug please do not offer a small cup !!
