Great ironmongers shop as other reviews a multitude of items currently many at 40% off so some very good bargains to be had. Friendly service. So if you need a bicycle tire, weed membrane for the garden, paint for sitting room , yarn for embroidery, a new tea set, you’ll find it here and much more.

Packed!
Jun 2017 • Solo
Full to the top with things. Which is both a good and a bad thing! You're very likely to find what you were looking for but you'll have difficulty finding it or moving around the store. I've been a few times and the staff have been a bit hit or miss for me - sometimes brilliantly helpful sometimes a tad rude.

Should you ever need 8 fork handles or candles then this is the place

The two Ronnies sketch has to have been written for here. A general hardware store stuffed full to the doors with every type of bit or piece you would ever need, and all with the most helpful of staff to find it. You can easily get lost but they will put you right. Fantastic selection, well priced, spot on staff, commody script writers please note.

Every town should have a shop like this.
Nov 2016 • Couples
What is it about hardware shops that people find so fascinating? Is it the sense of nostalgia? Is it the fact that you can find an endless array of things most useful as well as not much use at all? Perhaps it's also a real feeling of relief that such shops can still exist and provide such personal service.

Whatever it is - all town's should have a shop like Dorricott's.

This shop is the most fabulous Aladinns Cave…everything that you, your parents, THEIR parents and our children could possible be looking for…from jam jars, to tricycles, to plants, and wire, to wheelbarrows, and that unusual implement/tool that you can describe but don't know the name of … they'll know what you are looking for and will find it. Dorricots is the jewel in the crown of the independent traders in this pretty 'unspoilt' and historic small town of JEDBURGH. A well kept secret to the residents and a treasure to be discovered by visitors. AMAZING and v.Special.

Along with scare and fish, ironmongery is one of the few mongeries we have left.
And P&S has it in droves.
Nails? Check
Plastic basins? Cha ching
Novelty shoe polisher? Boom!
