Impressive statue and temple, but at least 200 steps to reach the top, good exercise for people don't used to!!! There are a dress code to enter to the temple, no short dresses or pants.

After visiting temples in China & Thailand this was just a BIG let down, everything felt like a tourist attraction & man made, you walk up 250+ steps to see what looks like a nativity play in each corner of the caves, & new building...More

Really glad we did this but it is jammed with tourists and with monkeys! There are a lot of steps to climb but it is worth the effort - just blown away by the history and the effort it took to build this. Memorable.

Excellent temple in the hill top which has got steps to walk. Challenge for people with walking disability. But Hindu temple is perfect and Poojaris are excellent. Visited 4-5 times already.

There are no stairs to get to the view from the bottom and depending on how you get there will depend on the distance to the entrance. It's not very far though.

I think about 270? It can be quite slippery in the rain too.

Yes there is work underway, it does not affect your visit and if you are fit and healthy you could help the efforts by carrying a brick or two to the top!
