“One of the many temples on site”

There are a number of temples on site of the Batu Caves. While I was there the steps were painted in a manner similar to the steps beside Lord Murugan. There was a couple taking wedding photos on the steps. Not much to see

It is one of the most amazing Temple that one must visit. While it's not necessary to wear traditional Indian clothing to a temple, both men and women should wear modest, conservative clothing to the temple.

The Sri Venkatachalapathi & Alamelu Temple is one of many Hindu temples inside the Batu Caves complex. In theory, the temple is accessible from three sides as the temple is open air and covered by a roof. Now there are so many stalls, the access is only possible by two sides, one of which is largely hidden because of all the stalls. Although it was not open for pooja when I visited, the open nature of the temple meant you could just walk around, just that the doors to the sanctum sanctorum were closed. This temple seems to be dedicated to the Hindu Goddess of War, Durga. All the statues of her are a dead giveaway. Like many of the other temples in the Batu Caves complex, this temple is also painted in a colourful scheme. Because the temple stands on an elevated position, it’s actually quite a good spot to see the Hanuman Statue.

Other than all the statues of Durga and other Hindu deities, there is one interesting sculpture of Krishna in the form of a merman. Never seen that before.

It’s worth a quick look if you are visiting the caves, otherwise I would not go out of the way.

Gombak Station Sceneries

This were all part of Gombak Station where there is Ramayana Cave, Batu Cave and this Sri Venkatachalapathi & Alamelu Temple to visit.

Favorite Temple

Open Ended Hindu Temple

The temple is open 24 hour, located in front of car park, Batu Caves. Colourful & magnificent building. Free food is availble on weekend (on event)
