This is a pretty and tranquil picnic area that has been transformed from the uninteresting quarry that it was a few years ago. The main attraction here is Hadrian's Wall, though it is barely noticeable at this stage, compared to the remains of the wall...More

Situated high on the Northumbrian moors this park has plenty for those interested in wildlife and history. Plenty of picnic benches and clean toilets appreciated.

Smallest shop on Hadrian's Wall with the best service, information on the National Park and Northumberland and great hot chocolate! Will be back for picnic and to bring friends.

Fantastic place or see Hadrians wall and have picnic lunch. Stunning views and beautiful walks along the hill top. Quite high and steel in places but well worth the climb.

We visited whilst staying in Northumberland on holiday. We wanted to visit Hadrian's Wall without visiting a popular paid for site as we didn't think our 4 year old and 8 month old would enjoy it. Having read the reviews on TripAdvisor, we chose Walltown...More
