This is a museum dedicated to Jesus Otero, a famous sculptor from Santillana del Mar.
The outside sculptures are just beautiful. They represent different prehistoric animals such as the bison or the horse, iconic figures from Altamira.
The inside exhibition is O.K., nothing special.

Two small rooms in a house dedicated to this sculptor. Several works demonstrating his talents on display. Seems to be a large library on the second floor for anyone wishing to study in more depth. Worth a visit to learn about this talented man

This museum founded and dedicated to Jesus Otero is just by the main church in Santillana del Mar. It is free to enter and we both enjoyed the visit. Before this visit we hadn't heard of this guy and liked much of the work on show there, most especially the wooden carvings of Christ in the main room. These are spectacular. Much of the rest is bas relief and again we enjoyed very much. It's also an attractive building and free, what's not to like!

A delightful small regional museum that lets you walk through one of the old buildings in town. An interested photo display of their annual festival. Worth the time.

Great exhibition; very worthwhile visiting. Informative and interesting with unusual sculptures, both outside and in. Opposite a toy museum and sweet shop, which I would recommend visiting as well.

There are some interesting works outside the museum but to see a wider range it is worth going inside this small museum. It consists of two rooms on the main floor housing some very beautiful sculptures by this very talented artist. We did not stay long, maybe 20 minutes, or so. This museum is worth a short stop if you have time, otherwise just take a short walk and browse the works outside.

We were in the village too early to see inside, but we did take the opportunity to walk around the garden and admire the sculptures.

Didn’t go inside the museum due to time constraints but there are several lovely sculptures in their garden.

You will find this Museum at the “Plaza del Abad Francisco Navarro” which is next to the “Collegiate de la Villa”, the museum is the result of the fact that the donated all of his works to the town, this in order to give the public the chance to admire his works. The museum and the Foundation have been created in the year 1994. The main objectives of the museum and foundation are to study but not only this, but also to expose the works of Jesús Otero. More than 50 sculptures and objects from his private collection are collected in this Museum, which the artist donated to the City Council of Santillana de Mar in 1993. The rest of the sculptural work of Otero is distributed in museums, private collections and urban monuments of Spain, France, USA and Colombia. We personally did not enter into the Museum because of the short time left over on the day of our visit.

This wonderful sculpture garden and museum is one of Santillana's best kept secrets. Situated next to the Colegiata - it is full of wonderful surprises. Such incredible talent.
