My friend advised me to go to that area which I didnt know that was existed. After crossing the port and after the lighthouse. This area is blocked and restricted due to the large hanging rocks. Many people were passing there. The path and the views are stunning. It worth the risk to take photos there.
This area must be maintained to avoid fatal incidents.
The beach itself was not something to mention about. Most probably because its winter and everything is closed but this is just an excuse to leave such a place at its own faith

We regularly visit Arvanitia for swimming. The service of BlueBlanc is improved and music is not so loud. I'd like to focus my criticism on the 'free' spaces of the beach. All facilities are poorly maintained; no running water in the showers, and the paved-ways are corroded or slippery. Moreover, the parking area needs some marking, otherwise cars of irresponsible drivers block other cars. Lat but not least: graffiti is not necessary art and especially on the walls of the castle or road signs. The mayor should do something. Generally, Nafplio is a great location to visit but we get the feeling of a 'tourist trap'.

Yes, the beach is small and covered in pebbles and yes it's a little hard on the feet. But none of that deters from the beauty of this area. The water is beautiful blues and greens and is crystal clear. After a long, hot day the cool water was incredibly refreshing.
The beach also provides amazing views, including the fortress that runs across the town. There is also a fantastic walking trail that takes you around the area and is well worth checking out. We absolutely loved this beach.

Truth be told, the water and the quality of water at Arvanitia Beach is good, the proximity to Nafplion as well. There is nothing to say about that. The true and big problem about this beach is the Blubanc, the restaurant/all-day café-bar that runs the beach.
Unfriendly, unforthcoming, snobbish and rude are the best words to describe the people working there. They 'reserve' tables and stretchers for supposed to come clients (their friends, best mates or people they consider suiting for the ambience), they are totally reluctant to respond to any form of kind conversation and communication and are not shy to send tourists away just to have their peace of mind.
If you want to be treated like a persona non grata, if you want to ruin a day of your holidays and if you want to meet the luckily enough very rare to be found in Nafplio arrogant way of dealing with customers, then go ahead and try to get a place at the Blubanc in Arvanitia beach. Just don't complain afterwards, you have been warned.

We came to this beach twice during our short stay in Nafplio. The setting is absolutely amazing! The Palamidi Castle on one side and the Akronafplia Castle on the other side.. just beautiful. The water was crystal clear. It is not easy to find a beach chair, but you can always use your beach towel, that way you are closer to the water. If you used the beach chairs you will need to order something from the beach bar. We had fresh squeezed orange juice.

My husband and I walked along the promenade from Nafplio to Arvanitia beach one afternoon for a swim which took us 10 to 15 mins.
We had viewed the beach from above in the morning and the seas were very calm but by the time we got to the beach there were big waves.
This is a stony and pebble beach with crystal clear blue waters so wear reef or beach shoes.
You can swim off the ladders and platforms which is lovely.
There is also a beach bar and parking available.

So the beach itself can be a bit crowded and there are a few bar nearby (The Veranda, BluBlanc that have quite a few party animals enjoying the space,) however the walk from the Nafplio Marina wrapping around to the beach is AMAZING. There are tons of natural grottos that you can just stop and jump into the sea and then climb back onto the rocks and relax. The water was empty, quiet, and I felt like I had all of Nafplio to myself. Don't miss out on this experience!

The beach is small and pebbly, which doesn't bother me at all. What upset me was that as I arrived on my own (business trip) I was told i could not have a lounger because there was only me. There was plenty of empty ones and i was willing to buy a drink (the cost of the lounger) or two even to be able to lay in the sun but as I was not filling both seats this was unacceptable. I was directed to a chair, brought my drink and spent the next half an hour being watched by the 5 or 6 men that were working. I eventually left because i was so uncomfortable. The toilets are also horrific.

We weren't really planning on spending much time at the beach during our recent visit to Nafplio, but since this one was so close to the town, we decided to go see what it was about. The "beach" itself was very odd, with these gigantic rocks that people were layig on, and you can't even walk on them or go into the water without wearing shoes. Then to the left and right of the shore, there were these weird concrete slabs that people were jumping off of into the water. The water itself was BEAUTIFUL! Clean and clear, but also freezing cold, so we just did a quick dip. It was kind of disappointing to see -- as one other reviewer described it -- the "hideous derelict wreck of a former hotel (???) at one end of the beach and the towering shell of some other concrete monstrosity in a state decay above on the cliff." The bar and restaurant were closed too while we were there, but I see that other reviewers were complaining about the noise so that's probably fine for us.

Lovely beach, perfect location just a short walk from Nafplio. Stoney, but nice little waves. Many people were lying on the stones, getting shade from the wall/cliff or sitting in the cafe bar. perfect also if you just want a quick swim or cool down, dry off and head on ....

à partir du port prendre en direction de la citadelle Palamède. Juste avant prendre la route qui monte à droite: vous êtes à la plage. Un restaurant: le Karima Kastro rue Papanikolaou dans le haut de la vieille ville.

Does anybody know what time of year the beach bar closes?

Is there a nearby hotel? Is the water deep or shallow for a distance?
Written July 6, 2016
There are very many hotels nearby the beach is a short walk from the historic center of Nafplio.
The water is shallow for a nice distance but then does get deeper
