I have already written my review in few lines. Now I want say some thing to the visitors/pilgrims who visit this temple. This is a unique temple, where on the outer walls of which the Great epic of Ramayana is sculptured. It is not easy to join each and every sculpture and to construct the Epic. It requires great knowledge to understand what each sculpture is saying and how to link one sculpture to another and to construct the story. With great effort for nearly five years, with the blessings of the Lord Rama I am able to . link each sculpture and construct the Story of Ramayana, fro the time the birth of Sri Rama and to the time of the death of Sri Ravana. It is a unique book and no one will be able to do this job. A book is published as `Shileyalli Ramayana' `Ramayana sculptur
ed in stones' . 158 paged book printed in multi colour with more than 100 photos. If you wish to have this book please contact me to my mobile.

Not a regular temple - more a monument. Circumambulating the temple twice slowly will give you the entire Ramayana. The stone carvings along the wall speak stories - absolutely exquisite artwork. There is one panel where a damsel is wringing her wet hair and drops of water and falling down with a swan below lapping it up....what an imagination brought to lie in the stone carving....where did this knowledge go? did the mugal invaders destroy it so much? sad

The temple was build during Vijayanagar Empire and has a marvelous architecture. Hazara Rama Temple has carvings from Ramayana and that's where the name comes from. It is the only temple nearby the Royal Enclosure and it is believed to be the the temple where Royal people used to worship.

1. This is one of the left structures and is beautiful. It has carvings which depict Ramayana episodes.
2. You should take a guide who can inform you about the carvings on the walls.
3. Once you buy a ticket, you can visit all the structures of the Hampi for a day.
4. It was a temple for Kings and their royal family.

Hazara Rama Temple is a beautiful temple located at the center of Royal Enclosure. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama.

Hazara Rama Temple was built in the early part of the 15th century by Devaraya II. The term Hazara Rama literally means a thousand Rama and refers to the large number of Ramayana panels depicted on the walls. This temple is believed to be the private temple of the kings and the royal family of Vijayanagara..
