We stayed at Jungle lodges and Resorts Hampi and a visit to Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is part of the package. The sanctuary is about 8 kilometres away from the resort. Unlike other sanctuary’s you can drive into this sanctuary in your own vehicle. You have to drive in about two kilometres and park your vehicle at a particular place... More

Seems attractive at first sight but we were told that there were only 5 bears there recently let loose and there was a minimal chance of sighting them, nor was there enough infrastructure for the forest visit. Best avoided.

if you have spare time after visiting Hampi, you should definitely go and visit Daroji Bear sanctuary. From Kamlapur, you can take a auto. Since it is situated in a remote place, you should plan for the return journey upfront. If you take an auto, hire for to and from. We had paid 600 Rs but I guess the fare... More

This is a natural habitat for bears and we could see about 6 bears coming out of their habitat around 5.30PM. We also could see some wild boars and peacocks during the visit.

They charged Rs 500 for entering the sanctuary. There is really not much there except the Bears which are hard to site. We saw 1 bear from about a KM away. Very disappointing given the money we payed.

This place needs a mention for faking the sighting of bears . May be for business reasons , I am not sure . This place is kind of dedicated to Jungle Lodges . People staying in Jungle lodges (Sloth Bear resort) are considered as VIPs here . Hardly we sight any bears , also there is some conspiracy behind sighting... More

With great excitement we undertook this trip to Daroji Bear Sanctuary At the entry gate we were surprised with a exorbitant charge of Rs.500/- per vehicle and Rs.25/- per person When we reached the view point there were three bears visible only through binoculars and the distance between the view point and the location of bears was so large that... In Oct this year, we visited here during our Hampi tour. We were initially skeptical, but glad that we decided to go for it. We reached the place at about 3pm and climbed up the watch hour. As soon as we reached, we were lucky to spot a Sloth Bear. But may be due to the heat, it disappeared soon... More

You have to drive...into the interiors...over mud roads at times...you'll get to see some peacocks and bears through binoculars...a good experience for children though..sad part its open only in the evening from 2 or 3 to 6 and they charge 500 as car entry fee apart from ticket charges

The Daroji Bear Sanctuary is on the road between Hampi and Bellary - 15 kms into the village roads. The sanctuary is open between 2 PM to 6 PM only unlike where most of the websites say 6 AM to 6 PM. So, plan your visit accordingly to visit post noon only ! One can combine this place if they... More
