Great Place and an experience to stay in the Institute campus with the Temple, Doll Museum, etc. If one has time, one can enrol for classes to learn Tangkha painting and Tibetan woodwork as well.

Consider: we, a family from far away Holland (husband - wive - son of 16 and daughter of 15) come to visit Mc Leod Ganj, knowing only that the Dalai Lama lives here. Being there, we got really impressed by the atmosphere in and around his house, at local temples and vilages (Upper and Lower Dharamsala). We wanted to know... More

Set in beautiful gardens, this is a very interesting attraction. There is a beautiful Buddhist temple, and also many craftspeople at work. We saw painting, etching, printing, applique - and there is a shop (very expensive!) where you can buy work from these artists.

It was an average experience for me because I expected a little more exciting place. Inside landscaping etc. was very beautiful and relaxing. But inside the places where do the crafts etc. were not very active - so actually didn't get to see or learn much. Doll museum was excellent though. It depicts the history as well as Tibetan culture... More

We spent a wonderful and quiet afternoon at Norbulinka, the staff were extremely helpful and took us on a tour of the entire facility. The main temple shrine with the seated Buddha statue was awe inspiring. Really enjoyed the coffee and cakes at the garden cafe as well, amazing experience!

An amazing trip with my friends. We all were enjoyed and felt eternal peace of mind. Very clean and well maintained area. All those monks were well ordered admired us with their behaviour and the discipline they were maintaining.
